Judging only by his face in that video, Tkachuk looks like he isn’t heavy. So hopefully he’s in decent shape.

Still got that teenager metabolism. His dad looked pretty slim early on, too...
Will be interesting to see if the boys fill out as much as Keith did (preferably not for today's style of game)

I think he actually looks thinner in the face than previously.
Now, I think his game requires some heft. But maybe he’s lost a pound or two working on his skating.

I like it.
If Treliving feels he can't get a long term deal done in three years he will trade him for a king's ransom. We don't know what the cap situation will look like then, maybe cap is up, maybe Frolik/Brodie/Lucic/Ryan are replaced with cheaper options etc.
Best case would of course be a cap friendly long term deal, but that was never going to happen. If we have to pay Tkachuk 10m/year in four years that is probably a good thing, not a bad, because he will be a top 10 player in the league.
So all things considered I like it. Team is intact and some flexibility was provided for both parties.
