I'm not going to make any excuses, I'm a bit of a fanboy of his. Made one bad play in Victoria, but besides that every time I watch him play I've been impressed. Really happy with that signing so far.

It didn’t cost the Flames the game. It was against the Jets and the flames won 4-1. Johnny had a hat trick that game. He did get sent down the next day though. However he did play more games later in the season.

Yelesin stood out in the rookie camp, and he looks like a veteran NHLer in 4 periods of preseason hockey. I honestly have to wonder if he doesn't out-battle Stone for the 7th d-man spot. At the very least, he's the first call up with Valimaki injured.

He looked like Huselius on his goal. Not sure why they want him at C when they seem to see Bennett and Dube as wingers

If he keeps it up I think it's enough to keep MacDonald from getting a contract unless he willing to go to the AHL

Tkachuk to top line, if he signs, and then give Dube tkachuks spot and now you have Lindholm to centre is own 2B line.

Whatcha think?

Yelesin angles players better than most NHL d men. Hes so good at being in not only good position but the best possible position.

Though he is far less skilled than either Tkachuk or Lindholm, Dube is more similar in style to Lindy, FWIW.

Is it just me or is the shot clock guy extra stingy this year. Sure felt like we had more than 6 shots.

Yeah, but I figured they probably don't want to give him first-line minutes and first-line responsibilities just yet, which is why they could build him up for a season or so on Backlund's wing.

Also: Yelesin is playing this well despite not really understanding what his teammates are saying to him.

It will be great. Flames will win a bunch and Corsi guys will say it’s unsustainable!
