Kind of fascinated with the idea of keeping that together as a line... Dube can add some real fire

Quine making his case to stay on the team to start the year. He was excellent in the AHL last year.

Not bad in his NHL games too. I think he battles for the last roster spots for sure.

I agree that overall I thought he was a well rounded player. Was his last NHL regular season play that awful turnover that cost the Flames a game?

Essentially, yes. I thought it was a little unfair, but when the depth is good that's all it takes.

I'm telling you now, this was a brilliant pick up from the European scouting staff. The guy thinks the game extremely well, and has pretty good mobility to go with it. Add in a bit of physicality from a smaller defenseman, and you have a pretty good NHLer ready to pop.

monahan struggled to win puck battles that shift. turnover at blue line led to entry against, then couldn't gain position on the sharks player behind his own net and let him walk in front

Absolutely. He's the guy I'm watching the closest as pre season goes on and games get tougher. There's something there

I would have liked to see him at LW. He struggled as a 4C but might have been better with less responsibility
