They finished in the top 4 twice in the 5 years before Poch got there. I think it's also a bit of a mirage as Arsenal and United have hit the ditch at the same time as the Spurs recent rise.
There's credit to taking advantage of weakening opponents to be sure, but if those two other clubs are still well run are Spurs top 4?

Well the last few years they've finished 3rd, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. If anything, that's pretty solid consistency and more consistent than at least a couple of the other "big 6". I would say they were in the mix this past year at about the halfway mark as well, and the injuries and fatigue caught up to them and they fell back. But I guess that's how we got on this topic; if they had the bankroll of these other clubs they would have more top tier players for all of the fixtures they found themselves in.

Before last year I think they were also ahead of liverpool for something like 6 straight years
With chelsea being so volatile, it basically made them the 2nd most consistent team in england for the first 5 years of his tenure, I think the total points over that period shows that as well

Watching highlights of the kompany testimonial
Paul scholes could still run a midfield passing game tomorrow, put him with 2 all action midfielders who do all the running and hes golden

I don’t know, maybe the odds of Roy being sacked are more prescient than I thought.

Well at least Wolves got into Europa League, otherwise what a catastrophic start to the year for them.

And now his first hat trick. At some point in the qualies we're gonna have to see what a Sterling-Abraham-Sancho front line looks like.

Sterling-Kane-Sancho (Rashford-Abraham-Alli)
amazing. Too bad there's no midfield.

Defense is kinda ass too, but hey winning every game 5-4 works too with that kind of fire power.

man I love Scott McTominay. Will never be a superstar, but plays with grit, energy and heart. Controlled Maddison today ... no idea how he wasn't booked at some point, but I won't complain.
3 points and a clean sheet, so I'm happy. Difficult game obviously, and scoring goals from open play is going to be a problem all season. But given the injuries and the bad start to the season, this was a really important result and that's what matters today. Maguire was great today.

Result matters of course, but you're right. United with 3 penalties in 5 games.

Seeing as Norwich are missing literally half their entire squad, even a draw today would be a massive upset.
