Well on a serious note, the regular season should really be cut down by a good 20 games or so, but that won't happen because of stated reasons. And the regular season might be more meaningful if the rules didn't change once the playoffs start, calling it "playoff hockey" is just a cop-out

Don't make the fan base look bad and ot welcome a new player but instead spew hate at him it's not a good look

Throwing them a potential life preserver is not something your provincial rival should be doing at any point.
 |
You do realize that the Flames also traded them our issue?

The Flames didn't just pick him up for a pick or prospect..

Why do people think we’re helping the Oilers out of Lucic’s contract? Neal’s is just as bad when you factor in the salary retention.
This is just junk for junk with both teams hoping they can get more out of the player they’re receiving.

Even if Neal does well, we don’t care as long as Lucic does well, especially considering Neal didn’t look to be on the verge of returning to form with the Flames.

There's no way to sugarcoat this one for me. We traded a huge problem for an even bigger one, because ... reasons?!

I really hope he talked to his former teammate Chara about his eating and training regime.

It’s been pretty widely talked about that Chara changed up his training and eating habits and it’s really helped him on the ice these past two seasons.

No, I understand the numbers, but it was the way it was written that was confusing to me.

It could help the Oilers if they buyout Neal next summer. They couldn't do that with Lucic.

Way too much panic on here. We have no idea what was going on behind closed doors. Is Neal sour about not getting top minutes as initially proposed before aquiring Lindholm? Does Neal make a big deal about sitting in the press box?
Did Neal do a damn thing all year? Did he ever step in and use his size to help out a teammate?

Don't get me wrong, Lucic isn't the saving grace but can we stop acting like Neal was an asset?
At least Tkachuk and Bennett no longer need to be the "tough guys" as the flames were brutally soft and the big bodies we had were either a) too skilled to be spending time in the box or b) had a "0" on the give a crap meter

When I look at the Neal SH%, I don't see a guy who had chances and was just snake bitten. He always seemed to be on the perimeter or just throwing muffins at the net. Maybe a handful of times where he was robbed of a great scoring chance.

That SH% isn't likely to get much better playing the game Neal played last year.

That's hard to believe. Without him waiving it (for expansion), how could their be a deal if he needs to be protected.
