I miss when Tyler Parsons was a future superstar #1.

A little over the top wouldnt you agree? Flames have done a good job drafting , good enough to not have fans start hyperventilating at the idea of them taking a player. I have my preferences as well but if they like a guy at 26 they like a guy at 26.

My bet is they find a great trade down option. This is the perfect draft to do so.

I assume that means they would like Knight at 26th considering they doubt he will be available. No other goalie is close to being ranked around that pick.

I think he still is that guy. His road there is a bit bumpier than others. He will get there though.

Edit: I remember pre season watching him play and ho estly I dont think I've seen that kind of explosive movement before in another goalie. Hes so fast and agile.

If the Flames trade down from #26 to the Hurricanes for #37 and #59 that could open an opportunity for a goaltender.

Take Samuel Poulin or John Beecher @37 and Sogaard @59

He still has that potential. Some goalies take 6-8 years to develop. I see patience is running thin already lol

Knight is one of the players on my list that if he somehow falls because the teams ahead of CGY load up on D men they can't get in the 2nd , they run to the podium. Knight, Lavoie, Tomasino are a couple of guys that could drop if a feeding frenzy begins on D Men.

You act like such a cyborg sometimes. Yes....there is the remote chance that Knight is available (he probably won’t) and there is a chance that flames want him at 26 (wouldn’t everyone), but don’t you think it’s an odd thing for conroy to say after Tre said Knight will be gone by the time we pick? Let me say it this way....there is a better chance that Conroy is taking about another goalie aside from Knight. That better?

I don’t think it’s odd for Conroy to say that knowing his personality type. There’s only 1 goalie ranked in the first by scouting services and that’s Knight. Conroy is an optimist and knows that anything can happen in the end.

I’m going to go with Occam’s razor on this one. Best goalie prospect to come around in years, only 1 goalie ranked near the first, Flames like a goalie in the 1st. It’s the simplest and most likely conclusion IMO

Actually listening to the Button interview confirms my interpretation. He says there’s 1 goalie they would take at 26, the goalies are on a separate list. Treliving doesn’t think the goalie will be there.

Give it a listen, seems clear as Knight to me lol

I still love Parsons as a prospect, and we all know how hit or miss goalies are. I just doubt we'd be talking goalie at 26 if Parsons were trending better. Goalie in the 2nd l
or 3rd? Absolutely. But leaning goalie in the 1st tells me there is a high degree of uncertainty in Parsons.

Conroy is referring to Spencer Knight. Not likely he'll be there at #26, but if by some chance he is, the Flames drop whatever their original choice was and take the goaltender.

The way Knight is touted, hed be an exception to the rule regarding the Flames. I think they still are high on Gillies and Parsons. But you take Knight all day every day I think if he is there. The other goalies? Meh. But Knight seems like this years Ilya Samsonov.
