Ugh

I don't get your point about Jon at all. Jon's story had everything to do with the outcome.

Yeah that scene was visually awesome.
Also Jon petting Ghost! I was hoping when it revealed Tormund he'd have a big goofy grin on his face.

I don't think that was his point at all.

In the end, the true moral of the story was pretty great: Humans are ####ing garbage, pets are always loyal.

Dexter: I am the champion of terrible series endings.
Game Of Thrones: Hold my beer.
This is exactly what I feared, HBO would put pressure on Martin to make an ending that would normally take him years to figure out and write about.

Well, after defending episode 5 I do think the finale was really poor. I wish they ended on a dramatic note rather than the setup of the new order of the realm. I do think this show was always going to be really tough to end.
That being said...the show overall was an incredible ride. I'm not going to let an underwhelming ending override what was an incredible journey over the years. Enjoyed the heck out of the series overall. But it feels like the right time for it to end.

I am happy with the endings the Starks received. And I never cared for Dany.

There's always this weird expectation that a finale of a series should be the highlight like the grand finale of a fireworks episode. A good story is never going to introduce something new or earth shattering in the final chapter. That would just be cheap. This ending worked for me and was solid.

Now, somewhere in England, after wagering his entire GoT paycheque on King Bran, the dude who played frickin' Edmure "sit down and shut up" Tully is sitting on easy street.

Obviously he saw the knife in Dany's chest and assumed the pointy chair did it.

this will go down as one of the best series finales of all time, with the only risk to that this current "hipster" culture of hating everything.
