Sucks the life and the fun right out of it for me but apparently I'm in the minority, so carry on.
If all you’ve read for 20 pages is complaints then maybe the show just sucks.

Weird though. I’ve thought the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive for S8, surprisingly so in fact since I always figured the final season would be under the most scrutiny.

I’d say only the last page or so has been negative but it has bounced back and forth between crackpot theories and funny squabbles, nothing too serious.

Ugh...this is triggering flashbacks to Star Wars:Episode 1. Please don't do that.

I mean, if my choices are Phantom Menace or one of the non-racist Transformers movies, god help me I'd probably rather watch the Transformers movie.

I admittedly don't post as often as you do so it's possible you missed my thoughts after each episode. I'm not asking everyone to share only positive thoughts either. As I said, carry on.

How fast did the Ballista's reload in Warcraft 2? I also recall needing more than 3 hits for them to take out a dragon.

I think this was truly the first bewildering episode of GoT to me.

I can take some pretty ridiculous plot points. I can accept quick transportation now. I can accept a ridiculous and useless adventure beyond the wall to capture a White Walker to try and convince Cersei to help in the battle against the Night King.

This episode had those same faults, but in addition were some faults that are truly heinous. They've completely broken character arcs and are making some characters act the complete opposite of how they should.

Why would Tyrion think he could convince Cersei to surrender? "You are not a monster"????? Nobody in the Seven Kingdoms should know that Cersei is a monster better than Tyrion. I feel like we had this exact same exchange back in season 4. This made no sense.

And then Dany. We had six seasons of Dany on the other side of the narrow sea, starting from rags to eventually becoming the Queen of Meereen. She was impatient at times, and ruthless as she should be, but she learned from her mistakes. She listened to her advisors. She learned how to rule. She learned to be patient.

And now she can't wait a few days to allow her army to rest? She doesn't scout ahead, and instead allows her dragon to take three direct ballista hits?

I feel like these aren't even the same characters. It's so unsatisfying.

Truly, it would have been better if they were killed. At least when people died in this series prior, the characters never strayed from who they were. For better or for worse, dead or alive, the characters felt real.

These characters don't.

Very few movies are as racist as the Phantom Menace.

Yeah there seems to be kind of a fine line between the expectation of realism and sacrificing realism and logic for the sake of enjoyment.

Maybe the bolts were magic. Maybe giants loaded them with rubber bands made from babies. Who knows. Who cares.

Give me blood, death, gratuitous sex scenes with a clever imp, and a bad ass duo of some oversized neanderthal and a small girl with a sword called needle. Turn em loose WWE style and let the best man win. Hopefully with lots of gore.

If that lights the hair of GOT nerds on fire so be it. I didn't read the books, never will, and really just want to get stoned and entertained on a Sunday night.

IMO kill everyone!!!
Exactly. It actually bugs me more than it should when people talk about GoT and say things like; “back then” or “in those days”, as if it is historical. Sure, some of it is comparable to historical Earth, but it’s a completely alternate reality. If there exists magic, then you can’t assume the laws of physics or the exact technology they use would be exactly comparable to historical Earth.

I’m actually surprised at how many people are complaining. I think they are just pissed that their predictions have been wrong.

After a re-watch I think that episode represents a new low in the series, even worse than Dorne.

Tyrion’s brain apparently just doesn’t work or something anymore I guess. The creators in the episode recap literally said “Dany kind of forgot about the Iron fleet”

She kind of forgot about the Iron Fleet. While sailing. She forgot.

What predictions? Nothing has happened yet to any of the main characters. The predictions remain unresolved.

In terms of predictions, I think they are just trying to build tension between Dany and the Starks to make the audience think they will turn on each other so that it’s a happy moment when they don’t.

Recall what they did with Littlefinger/Sansa/Arya last season. Built up Sansa/Arya turning on each other for the entire season to give a satisfying moment in the finale.

Can’t see Varys surviving much longer, I’m thinking he gets the Littlefinger treatment next episode

Predictions based on lore from Season 1-7.

D&D don't even care about where all these stories came up, they're just making up stuff "for the surprise" at this point.

Bran's entire purpose was a waste. No one mentions Arya outside of the cheers...they all sort of disband and go on their merry way. And then another dragon dies. Surprise!

It's super lazy and annoying. They're running out of time and rushing everything.

It's off topic but between the Asian trade confederacy, the Jamaican Guncans, and the middle Eastern slave merchants, it's pretty tough to beat the Phantom Menace in that category.

Soon the big debate will be: When did GoT officially jump the shark? Red Wedding, Tywin's death, the Sand Snakes, forest elves shooting fireballs, Ed Sheeran or the Battle of Winterfell?

I have sympathy for D&D. They are in way over their heads and just trying to swim to shore here.

They signed up to adapt really good books but then the books became unadaptable, and then straight up stopped, and they are left having to try and finish up the story of a vastly superior writer when they simply don’t have the chops.

Dani eventually kills Cersei and wins the throne. But the uprising in the Rumors that Jon is the true heir (and he went ahead and told his family, going against her wishes) drove her to have Sansa and Jon assassinated. Dani also turns on Tyrion in more paranoia, as he’s still a Lannister, sharing the same blood as Tywin and Cersei and have him executed. She also suppresses the uprising in the North. The Targarian Madness is developed in Dani

Ayra escapes and in the final episode, we see her kill Dani and assumes her identity as Queen. The final scene shows Arya in her chambers at night and then sees the impossible figure of her Dad, Ned Stark, walk through the Royal hallways, past her chambers. “Father? FATHER??” she races down, without a care that someone has spotted her as Arya Stark. She weaves through hallways until she sees this figure in a room, back turned to Arya and facing the roaring fire in the fire place. “Father?” She cautiously steps towards him. She turns him around and it is Ned Stark (yes, a Sean Bean cameo). She hugs him and asks how is this possible. He replies, “Arya, I have missed you so much and I am so proud of you”. Arya smiles and hugs him tighter. “Because the throne belongs to no one...” Arya pulls back in confusion and then feels a dagger through her heart. “You have pleased the many faced god” and Ned pulls his face to reveal as Jaqen H'ghar. Arya’s lifeless body hits the floor and H’ghar takes the face of Dani before her body pools out it’s blood. H’ghar sits on the iron throne with a smirk as he switches to Dani’s face.

Bran watches the whole thing in horror from warging as a raven. He drops his head in sadness knowing he is now alone
This is how I would expect it to end if we were 3-4 years ago. I don't know if the writers have the balls to pull this though anymore.
