I got a municipal one last election, and they came and grabbed it within a week or so.

The parties will clean them up. They have 3 days after the election to do so.

Jason Markusoff for Maclean's:

Jason Kenney’s Alberta: Open war for business

I like Markusoff's turn of phrase "hold on to your socks". It's going to be a very noisy and tiring four years.

Checking Social media you would think that Kenny / The UCP are about to sponsor the first LGBTQ Purge...

It's as over the top as the doom and gloom about the Orange Menace from 2015.

That said, the UCP have demonstrated a fundamental ignorance regarding this segment of the population. I think the best we can hope for socially is that we tread water for the next 3-4 years, but the fear of taking a step or two back is legitimate.

My closest friends in that community are rationally upset.

Tell the truth now. Are you Jason Markusoff?

I want to say that the people disappointed with the election results are being hyperbolic, but remember the thread of reactions when the NDP won? Endless bread-line references and comrade jokes. To be fair, at least they were funny.

I remember an earlier column lecturing Alberta that they should get in line with the rest of Canada.

If you notice, hardly any refer to a year, in case the person decides to run next time.

Was there a poll/pool for how much debt we'd rack up during their 4 years? I can't remember.

There is a reason Edmonton went all orange - specifically, about 58 billion reasons.

Too bad we don't know the number of that lady they caught taking down all the NDP/AP signs last week and putting them in her vehicle. It would be fun to have a mass text/phone campaign to her. Fitting punishment.
