Weird comment
I haven’t been posting about the goaltending much at all so you are certainly wrong in your thoughts there.
We won’t lose the series based on a bad goal to start things off but the life will be sucked out of the building pretty quick. Wouldn’t be shocked at all to hear a Bronx cheer on the next Avs dump in after the goal against either.

This is as good of a thread as anything to throw this in in light of the recent Francis discussion.
I don't understand how that guy can show his face in the Calgary market ever again after the article about Monahan not hating to lose being corrected less than what, 48 hours later after the team announces they are shutting him down so he can have 4 separate surgeries.
Why hasn't there been a popular revolt against this know-nothing troll?
I'm embarrassed for the team every time I see him associated with the club somehow.
As good as Ryan Leslie is on the Flames broadcast, Francis is bad.
He's going to be absolutely insufferable this playoffs.

Weirdly Bennett with that beard makes me feel more confident going into the first round.

Red is beautiful. Burgundy and powder blue are not.

Bennett and Neal are both going to be crucial for the team going deep in the playoffs. I hope we get to see Neal go beast mode. He has been trending in the right direction after returning from injury.

It's what a good beard does.
Two dandies alone managed to power the sharks to the finals a couple years back.

Giving up the 1st goal of the series isn't the end of the world but if it's a soft goal I could see a lot of negative energy in the dome. One has to wonder how much rope Smith gets. If they lose game one and Smith lets in one or two softies does Peters give him one more game or go right to Rittich?

By no means will it be the end of the series or even the game. I am so excited to see, hear, and be part of that crowd on Thursday. Being in that building a lot this year no doubt the fans ripe with Smith is short.
I think the crowd will be huge for momentum for the team early on. A softie by Smith I bet we will hear a pin drop in that building until the flames can grab back the momentum.
I think one bad game that results in a loss for Smith we see Rittich the next game

And then there is Mark Giordano who pretty much single handedly destroyed the Avalanche this year.
THIS is where the biggest difference in this series will be made.

I hope Bennett can control his urge to take stupid penalties and Brodie doesn’t try to get too cute. Other than that as long as the goalies don’t go full Brian Elliot everything should be fine.

Beyond ‘upper body’, is there any idea what Rantanen is suffering from?

Missed the last 8 regular season games due to an injury to his midsection (ribs or hip). Thank god for very specific hockey injury reporting

Has anybody been watching the NHL Rewind on Sportsnet featuring Game 6 of the '89 series between Montreal and Calgary? A couple of takeaways from me:
1. Joe Mullen and Hakan Loob played tremendous hockey for the Flames in that game/series and more importantly
2. Flames kept their discipline in that game as Claude Lemieux and Shayne Corson took turns running Vernon. Hopefully, the same kind of discipline can be exhibited by this year's edition of the Flames.

When is it time to start mailing it in at work and concentrate entirely on game day, reducing my work production to less than nothing?
Now?
Too early?
