I think the key to getting far in the playoffs, starting with Colorado, is making sure a loss does not get into our heads.

Let's hope our boys keep in mind this series isn't treated like a Super Bowl. You've got to win 4 games to win the series, 16 to win it all. I think with the goalie tandem we have, defenseman, and forward group we have has what it takes to ensure we win 4/7 games every series.

I see a lot of Avs fans going with this logic:

“We took a better Preds team to 6 games last year therefore we should be able to beat Calgary”

Got in my car with the dog at 5:45 this morning. 7 am ferry to Vancouver. Only 11 hours of driving to get me to Calgary!

Man o Man I hope the boys come out strong in game 1! It will be a sad drive home otherwise! Lol

What the flames don't want to do is take a page out of their book from many games this year and be too pretty early on just to save their actual siege for the third period. If they do they're likely coming from behind and the goalie is likely feeling it after building up their confidence for 40 min. Don't play with fire, be the fire!
Don't underestimate getting the home crowd going as well. We've got the fire power to score quickly (and often) so an early 1 or 2 goal lead means Grubauer won't hear the end of it anytime soon.

A 2-0 score after the 1st would be so so sweet!

I think it is crucial the Flames get the first goal Thursday or at least the first goal against us not butter soft.

A weak goal against will kill the crowd who is no doubt nervous about goaltending

One thing that has troubled me at the end of the season was how often the Flames have recently been surrendering the first goal. It happened in 8 of the final ten games, and is something that they absolutely need to correct now that the playoffs are here.

If the Flames get their PP going I feel the series will be short. If they struggle on specialty teams I think this will go 6 or 7 in the Flames favor. I'm still nervous about an upset. And it not so much to do with this team, but as a Flames fan you know getting out of the first round has always been a hard thing for this organization.

I don't think the fan base, in general, is anywhere near as nervous about the goaltending as you are.

Isn’t he going to find it difficult wearing rollerblades on ice? Or does he have snow wheels on those bad boys?

I think if MacKinnon tries to do that on one leg during the game tomorrow it probably won't end well for him.

You know what? I didn't even pay much attention to who it was...just assumed....my mistake. I agree, it doesn't appear to be him.

Weird thing to post in that case Francis...like what is the reasoning?

Still impressive though, whoever it is.
