Police put onus on public to behave properly for Red Mile celebrations

It will also be the first year police officers will wear body cameras, which Smart said is for the protection of the public and officers.

Their focus will be on risk management and de-escalation during the playoff celebrations and officers will centre their efforts primarily on the area around 17th Avenue and 5th Street S.W. or 6th Street S.W., where crowds usually develop.

When asked if the police had any plans to address some of the misogynistic behaviours seen previously, Smart said education is a major part of curbing those instances moving forward, however she did not identify any planned enforcement measures by officers to stifle such behaviours.

I find that note about the body cams interesting, as police have been using cameras during protests/large gatherings of people for about 3 years now. It's not like they are rolling them out just for the Red Mile.

I think it's more to say "Hey, don't want to end up on the news looking like a jackass? Then keep it together."

Those cams are going to record a lot of nudity.

Car flags only 15 bucks at Canadian tire on 130th.

The hefty good ones too. Not the flimsy ass cheap ones.

That's pretty cool of Watchman's, not very often you see those kind of promos extended to opposing fans

I'd love for somewhere new take that crown as the Red Mile. Be it Electric Ave, Stephen Ave or even 10th Ave. 17th Ave is no longer the "place to be".
The 04 run was crazy. I only went there once, right from the dome after the Flames knocked out Detroit. Couldn't move, decided to not go again.

Had them once years ago on their wing night

They were bad. Very bad.
Even getting wings for free won’t get me back there

I'm no longer a 20 year old university student that could dedicate 2 months to school during the day and to 17th at night.
Yeah, well, I am. You can be damn sure that I'll be making the most of it.

Also, university is basically over. It won't be a problem.

Fellow Flames fan new to Victoria (six months ago). Anywhere you recommend to cheer of the boys in enemy territory (To be honest I find most hockey fans are pretty respectful of the Flames here... it’s almost annoying.)

Also, saw a car rocking four flags on Government the other day. Kudos to that fine young lady and her decor.

This playoff run I will definitely be making up for the fact I was only in elementary school during the 04 run, let's put it that way
