Sometimes a goalie change isn’t about the goalie. If the coach feels he can gain something by pulling the goalie he might do it.
Also what’s with some of frickin hysteria around here. We are cheering for a first place team who’s one game removed from a 7 game winning streak and a bunch of fans are trotting out the we are done in early April crap because one period didn’t go our way. No excuse for that kind of panic, just emotional drivel that will make the ups and downs of any playoff run this team might go on simply unbearable around here. Some fans need to get some of their own mental toughness, it’s not all roses even for the best teams.

We aren’t playing that bad. Refs have missed 4 calls on us and the one they called for them was an absolute joke.
Rittich isn’t only fine he has made some solid saves. We outplayed them

Rittich made all the saves he was expected to. But a truly great goalie makes the hard ones on weird bounces. He's had a poor period. There isn't much that can be said to defend a goalie sporting a .727 SV%.

That's the way the rule is now has to be a real kicking motion for it to be disallowed. Players are allowed to direct to the puck in and we've had calls go in our favor that way to

Andersen made some elite level saves that period. Rittich did not. Andersen was better than Rittich that period. Every mistake the Flames made ended up in the net, while every mistake the Leafs made was shutdown by their goalie.

Well considering they had a seven game winning streak after that early pull, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that early pull will have no bearing on any kind of negative turning point on the season.

If he does get pulled it would be to shake up the team. Not because Peters has no faith in him and blames him for being down 3-0.
