Difference in that period was goaltending.
Andersen made some elite level stops. Both teams generated chances...Andersen the difference.

Because Ontario smells like slaughter houses and polluted Marsh. Or oil companies moved all their HQ's here years ago. Same same.

That wasn't a re-direction, that was a shot on a stopped puck with his foot.

Flames really need to find their scoring touch again. This game is still easily in reach.

Time to comeback. I believe this team. Just don't change Rittich.

That be a fine point if any of these goals were Rittich’s fault. But they aren’t.

Yeah, 50/50 call. Open to interpretation. I can see why they let it stand.

As disappointing as the goaltending has been the past few games, it’s the complete lack of offence that really concerns me. Top six have been very lacklustre to say the least. Can’t stand obnoxious loaf fans so I’m turning this one off. Embarrassing.

For those thinking that goal shouldnt have counted
Quote:
Kicking the puck shall be permitted in all zones. A goal cannot be scored by an attacking player who uses a distinct kicking motion to propel the puck into the net. A goal cannot be scored by an attacking player who kicks a puck that deflects into the net off any player, goalkeeper or official.
A puck that deflects into the net off an attacking player’s skate who does not use a distinct kicking motion is a legitimate goal. A puck that is directed into the net by an attacking player’s skate shall be a legitimate goal as long as no distinct kicking motion is evident.

I would bet you any amount that if Hasek in his prime is in goal for us tonight it is still 3-0.

Smash and grab job by the Leafs. Simple as that. Reminds me of a soccer game where one team has been really good but they can’t score. Other team hasn’t been very good but goes down the other end and scores.

Gaudreau is totally off, Backlund is horrible, Czarnik can't score into the empty net, Rittich can't make a ten bell save. We are going nowhere if this continues.

I hate games like this.
Leafs get some very fortunate puck luck (and possibly biased officiating) and their fans will run around boasting like they're a lock to win the cup. It's just so f'ing aggravating to watch.
I sincerely hope the boys are pissed and come out on fire in the 2nd. No reason for the Flames to be down by 1, let alone 3. Time to elevate their game and force their way back in this one.

Yup, goaltending hasn't been great. But pretty hard to win when we haven't scored much lately.

If Smith was turtled with the puck sitting in the crease this place would explode
