That's kinda what this thread is for - just a fun place for people to have fun with trade rumors. All your response does is make people who might have something to share less comfortable to do so because they are just going to get attacked for it.

If people just want the news from Dreger, Mackenzie, and Friedman then they might as well go right to the source and follow them on Twitter or just block everyone except for Sureloss.
Trolling is malicious by definition.

Making up wacky things is different than selling wacky things as legitimate.

I have posted wacky trade scenarios and legitimate rumours before, I know one from the other.

Like I said in my first post, there are posters who do this EVERY year this time.

FlamesAreOne can post what he likes, and I can post what I like, and what I like is to point out people actively provoking the message board with information they know will cause a disruption.

I don't care if people want to speculate on Neal for Lucic, I've done it in this thread. But if they're going to sell it as legitimately almost happening, that's something entirely different.

If I'm in the Flames war room, I'd say for a return of Stone

Touchable: Kylington, Mangiapane, Quine, Dube, Brodie, Frolik, 1st, 3rd

Untouchable: Andersson, Valimaki, Bennett, Tkachuk, and basiclaly the rest of the roster.

personally, i agree with Steinberg that Andersson and Valimaki are untouchable... i am not even sure i'd give up both kylington and dube and 2 firsts (on conditional) for Stone... one of those two plus one of Mangi/Czarnik is the furtherest i'd go personally.
I think Dube and Kylington also flow into untouchable.

If I'm Tree, I go after a deal heavier on picks. Picks we can help off-set by recovering some in the off-season.

'19 1st, '20 1st, '20 2nd, Foo, Pettersen. That additional 2nd pick is a jump in value over Duchene, and Pettersen is a prospect who's stock is rising fast.

Flames then get to recover some picks through some dealing at the draft.

I don't think anyone else is going to tossing out a package that includes two 1st rounders and a 2nd. If Ottawa doesn't bite on a deal like this, that's where I'd back away from the table.

No need to chase a somewhat new poster out of here considering the majority of his posts on CP so far have been harmless.

Not like it's a guy like Eklund who's trying to profit off of fake trade rumors.
Yeah I agree.

I think if you take it with a grain of salt it's better to know something that you're leary of then to be kept in the dark completely.

I'd say I'm fine with false rumours to an extent ... but I'm with you on the "I have something to say but I'm not going to say it" schtick.

That's weak.

we'll see... i think Ottawa needs to get a top prospect back for optics alone when dealing a player like Stone.

I would not trade either Kylington or Dube for anyone else that was available this year... but Stone is a guy that can really make some noise in the playoffs.

Really? I thought your usual M.O. was careless drive-by insults, but you do you man.

For a signed Stone, I'm okay with;

Dube
2019 1st
2020 1st
2019 2nd

I'm okay with giving up those high picks as a signed Stone keeps us very competitive during this window.

Saying no to Kylington, Valimaki, Andersson.

It’s a big price that I’d cringe at and then get over pretty quickly as the joy of acquiring Stone sets in.

I think we are getting one of two packages this deadline.

Stone - OTT
Howard + Kronwall - DET

or

Zuccarello + Hayes/McQuaid - NYR
McElhinney - CAR

And I would be quite content with either.

Guess we can agree to disagree then.

Maybe his info was legitimate & maybe it wasn't but all posts like yours do is make people that might have legitimate info not comfortable to share it because they will just get attacked for posting it if it doesn't come true or if they don't spell out their rumor with all detail right off the bat.

If he had just left it at the first post then that would have been annoying but all of us pointed out that he wasn't sharing enough info - and when we did that he was willing to play along and provide a bit more detail by giving out what he was willing to share and I have no issue with that.

IMO in the end you insulting him as a poster twice was more disruptful to this thread, and malicious than anything he did. Even more so when you consider that other posters have mentioned not wanting to share things they've heard knowing that it's just going to get a reaction like the one you gave.

With the internal plan of dealing Brodie to recoup a 1st prior to the draft.

It is interesting how draft picks hold less value at trade deadline but near the draft everyone laments trading them and would move roster players for them.

Insanity. I think it'll be 1 of the 7 players listed.

Spell it out or don't share it IMO.
Great, your opinion means jack squat so nobody cares. It is a trade speculation and rumours thread. If someone hears something feel free to share it. Don't let the bully get to you.

Who cares if someone knows something, and but can't say anything about it. People need to stop getting so emotionally invested over random internet posts anyways. Everybody here knows tons of stuff that they can't share on this board in one way or another.

If you see a tidbit that ruffles your feathers, just read it, say 'cool' and move on. If something does indeed happen, you'll eventually find out somehow.

I agree that the untouchable prospects for me are Valimaki, Andersson and Kylington.

2019 1st
2020 1st
Dube
+

For Stone is palatable.

Could also see Brad driving the price way up on Stone just to squeeze more assets out of Winnipeg
