If we do get him, sticking with my earlier prediction of 2019 3rd + Brett Pollock.

Other teams can and will easily beat that offer. Pollock is a low-level prospect.

One is a legitimate prospect with middle six potential while the other will be fishing for a contract in Europe this summer.

Has to happen now to make sense.

Some dude on the Fan with Pinder said the asking price was 4 assets, but two of them would be firsts.
Perhaps one of those firsts could be conditional on Stone re-signing
So basically you are looking at
2019 1st
2020 1st (conditional)
Jankowski
Dube
Boy that's starting to get rich.
Of course that's what they are asking for. Doesn't mean they get that.

They won’t get anything near that.

Too much for me. That would be three years in a row without a first and that's an awful lot of potential damage to the ability to rotate cost controlled talent into your lineup which is pretty critical in the cap world.
I'm not sure management is willing to gamble that much on this core limited by this goaltending tandem.

McKenzie in an insider trading update said the asking price is 2 1sts and 2 very good prospects.
Also interesting is they cut the Flames talk in their update, but LeBrun wasn't in their update so maybe that is why

That package would win the day, I can’t see it getting to that level.
I could however see it getting to this level:
2019 1st
2020 1st
Frolik
Prospect
They may try for more, but trade history shows it likely won’t get to that Jankowski/Dube/1st/1st level.

Asking doesn't mean that is what they will get. Maybe the Jets will do it.

Could you imagine if BT somehow landed Stone AND Zuccarello at the deadline?!?! With Mike Stone almost ready to come back, 4 rising under 22 YO Dmen ready to grow in the NHL and Mark Stone potentially coming here to sign long term does it make sense to maximize Brodie’s trade appeal now with the Flames needing to decide between him and Hamonic as soon as the off-season. BTW please don’t get me wrong; I love TJ I think he has been a soldier here for near a decade total time and has been a massively successful mid round pick that I have championed in many a debate with my rival fan friends at work.
First trade:
1st
Gillies
Jankowski
Brodie
For
Stone 7 x 8.5
Then trade for Zuccarello, again we have a need to clear salary in the off-season going into free agency to increase key RFA’s Tkachuk, Rittich and Bennett not to mention figuring out Mark Stone. Trading a guy with playoff experience and 1 year left on his contract after this year (Frolik) for a guy with playoff experience on an expiring contract (Zuccarello) could make sense for both teams depending on what would need to be added.
Frolik
3rd conditional (becomes 2nd if Flames make conference finals)
For
Zuccarello rental
Healthy playoff line up
Gaudreau - Monahan - Stone
Tkachuk - Lindholm - Zuccarello
Bennett - Backlund - Neal
Mangiapane - Ryan - Hathaway/Czarnik
Hathaway/Czarnik, Dube
Giordano - Hamonic
Hanifin - Andersson
Kylington - Stone
Valimaki - Prout
Smith
Rittich

McQuaid left the game and now Rangers are saying that he won't be back for precautionary reasons.
Some reports he got hurt earlier in the game. Will see if he was traded or just had his trade value skewered.

I hope McQuaid is ok he’s been super unlucky this year and this would be the worst yet being so close to the deadline.

The Sens are living out of their ####ing heads if they think they’re getting that. They have no leverage. None.
Deal won’t get done until Monday when they get their head out of their ass. Apparently, they aren’t even letting teams talk to Stone first to see if he will extend. That organization is so incompetent that I bet they get left holding one of these guys because of their stupidity.

Man, this screams of several teams meeting Ottawa's original ask, then Dorion* deciding to push the ask because teams are clearly willing to pay.

The Sens are basically going to eff up this entire deadline. That's my prediction.
They will keep their heads up their arse until it is too late. Other deals won't happen and they won't end up dealing any of their guys
Because they are dumb.
