If the Sens would take Neal, I'd do
1st, Dube, Kylington, Neal for Stone and Boroweiki
then go after Simmonds or Ferland (Need a bit more grit)
2nd + Czarnik
Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm
Tkachuk-Backlund-Stone
Bennett-Jankowski-Ferland
Frolik-Ryan-Hathaway
Giordano-Brodie
Hanifin-Hamonic
Valimaki-Andersson
Rittich
Smith
Off season, trade Brodie for 1st and RHD prospect, trade frolik for a 3rd to open up room to resign stone and ferland, tkachuk, bennett and sign talbot.
Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm
Tkachuk-Backlund-Stone
Bennett-Jankowski-Ferland
Mangiapane-Ryan-Hathaway
Giordano-Andersson
Hanifin-Hamonic
Valimaki-Stone
Boroweiki
Rittich
Talbot

To me Kylington is more valuable than our 1st. In fact I value him like a top ten draft pick because he has that ability and ceiling.
In such a trade the 1st should be the most valuable piece.
1st, Jankowski, Frolik and 2nd seems far more realistic.

I agree.. and he potentially has the opportunity to play on the top line.
Gaudreau-Monahan-Stone
Tkachuk-Backlund-Lindholm
I don't even care what the bottom 6 would look like.

I don't think so. There is too much term to make sense for a cap-compliance acquisition.

1st 2019
Kylington
Jankowski
Parsons
Neal (maybe $1m retained)
Stone
Then Frolik traded in off season to clear more cap.
For Playoffs
Gaudreau-Monahan-Bennett
Tkachuk-Lindholm-Stone
Frolik-Backlund-Czarnik
Mangiapane-Ryan-Hathaway
Gio-Andersson
Hanifin-Hamonic
Valimaki-Brodie
Rittich
Smith
Ridiculous.

You lost me at including Parsons. I still think he will be an elite starting goalie when he develops.

I'm ok with giving up quite a bit for stone even without contract guarantee. Sell him on an extension by going far in the playoffs.
I would use a combination limited to these pieces:
Brodie
1st 2019
1st 2020
Dube
Jankowski
Neal
Frolik
Any prospect we own not currently in the nhl and not named valimaki or peterssen

Even Dorion is not stupid enough to do that. Other teams will certainly beat that.

Bennett is really coming into his own on the wing, I'd run Czarnik or Dube down the middle next year if lost Janko for Stone.

Treliving is a gambler - he might be thinking Stone or bust, which would be interesting.
Think of it if you're an opponent of ours. Adding Stone to the group we already have, which is second overall and second in goals, would be absolutely terrifying. Add to his scoring, his exceptional defensive capabilities, and it would put us into a pretty high stratosphere. The biggest question will remain goaltending, however. One of Rittich or Smith has to perform at a high level no matter what.

I'm banking on the gamble of Rittich being a #1 for the window. Gotta give up to get. But I get your point.

1st and Kylington is the starter for Stone
Next piece is either dube, or mangiapane
and then a cap dump frolik/neal since the flames want him signed.

Think the problem I have with Stone is that he's likely also going to command a $9.5M cap hit - which means you likely have to move other pieces too to free cap on top of what you give up for Stone.
I'm going to assume that moving Neal is not feasible, and that moving our Stone wouldn't be an option as playing with his brother will be used to entice Stone to sign.
Rumor is Sens want 3-4 pieces, and in order to fit Stone in long term it means likely that at least Brodie and Frolik are moving.
So big picture the trade is:
Stone
Assets from Brodie Trade
for
2019 First
Dube
Kylington
Czarnik
Brodie (Moved in separate deal at draft)
Frolik (Moved as a cap dump at the draft)
As much as I do like Stone I wonder if it's worth it due to A) The young pieces we'd have to move out and B) The way it would negatively impact our depth moving forward.
I'd almost rather just take a shot in the offseason if he goes UFA.

it needs to be a long term play for the Flames to get in Stone.
Sens asking for 4 assets
They need a contract extension or know they have a good shot to re-sign him

The other "cap dump" possibility that people think is likely in the off season but could happen now is Brodie. If you're very confident Valimaki and Stone could play this spring, then it is doable. You could probably pick up another depth D for this year as part of an Ottawa transaction, or for a low pick from somewhere else.
Assuming Kylington AND Brodie are part of a Stone deal:
Gio-Andersson
Hanifin-Hamonic
Valimaki-Stone
Is a good D group. Then pick up a number 7 from somewhere.

Maybe our old whipping boy Mason McDonald has some trade value...22yo putting up .917 and 2.23 GAA in the ECHL. These are better numbers than 22yo Jonathan Quick in the same league.
