Feels like the Penguins have been on an extended powerplay since the last goal. They are winning all the puck battles and getting on the puck quicker.

Good thing we have depth, amirite.
But yeah, they need to stop cheating. You have a lead, it's time to play responsible so you can keep it.

That's easily 10 seconds and the dynamics of the opponents PP changes significantly.
If you watched, Ryans presence forced passes around him, as he stayed in shooting lanes.
Ryan abandoning his teammates in the long change on the PK would've increased the chances of the goal significantly.
|
I did watch thanks, and his lack of a stick allowed the Pens to push down into a 5 on 3 press, and eventually a goal.
That play was multiple times longer than it would have taken him to get a stick.
The one thing you were right about is that it wasn't even close.

I feel like every line except for the 4th line has been getting outbattled since the 3rd goal.

Flames are leaving the zone too early and not winning the board battles in their own zone, the ones at the half wall at least, when the puck is dumped in and the defenseman get it out of the corner.
It caused the penalty of the Crosby goalby Czarnik, Tkachuk gave it away.

Need to shore up physicality if they want playoff success...

Tarength of that pairing should be puck retrieval and in theory they should be hemmed in less because of their puck skills. You compromise on size but gain more offence and beat the forecheck more often. Lately they are turnover prone though and its a real vulnerability I agree.
Glad the flames are investing time in them though, think it pays off long term (ignoring the crappy expansion draft)

He didn't tie up his guy thus the tip. Are YOU watching?
He took a penalty because he stick checked a guy that was ripe for getting bodied off the puck. FFS, the guy was gliding backwards and got tripped
Hamonic's poor D on both plays created a goal and a PP on which the Pens scored the other one.
Your points are terrible BUD.
