Both rentals, both looks to be traded, looking at Larry Brooks column.
JG could keep Hayes here for a discount, past a rental.
Zuccarello rumored to sign maybe back with Rags in summer.
Someone will land Stone and then these these two guys are likely part of the remaining teams Plan B, and the scramble will be on and price will go up.
Would certainly provide excellent depth up front, maybe almost too much depth, at the cost of a pick or two and maybe Dube or Magipane, ideally less, but who knows.
JG Mono Lindy
Zuc Backlund Tkachuk
Neal Hayes Bennett/Frolik
Frolik/Bennett Ryan/Janko Hathaway

Hockey is a sport with zero certainties, the flames have a chance to make a deep run. Rentals won’t be out of the question.
Mark Stone on the second line puts the flames near the Lightning in terms of talent. Stone is a tremendous player, easily the best 2 way winger in the game. Imagine him with a defensive beast like Backlund and Tkachuk to play off of. I don’t even care if he’s a rental, he makes the flames into a legit contender.

We don’t have a 2nd this year. It feels like it’s been like a decade since we had one. I would rather have some semblance of hope for a future than a rental but I know that’s just me.
If they can somehow sign a guy like Stone I guess go for it but I don’t see how the math goes around now that Tkachuk is going to command at least $7MM

It means Frolik has to go in the Stone trade, and then (likely) Brodie has to go in the off-season.
It actually wouldn't be too difficult, which is why I'm beginning to think there's a real chance of this happening...*getting my hopes up*

I am fully on board with spending futures now to try and get a guy like Stone and moving current roster players for futures in the summer to be able to re-sign Stone long term and re-stock the cupboard.

My guess is if you want Stone, Bennett has to be part of the package going the other way.
Aaaaand as i am saying this, i hear the exact same conversation on 960.

I like Sam Bennett a lot but I'd be prepared to move him to get Stone.

Word is the Oilers and Flyers are in trade discussions on Cam Talbot. Could be preliminary, but they’re definitely talking.

Someone certainly. There’s no scenario where you get Stone without a roster player going back and I doubt Frolik is that roster player.

Bennett and a 1st probably. May be worth it if the flames can agree to an extension.
They would then need to move out a few contracts in the offseasons...like his brother lol

I’d make that deal. Would move Frolik to the third line. Move Frolik in the off season. Move Brodie at the draft or after to get a first back.

It's been two drafts. But before that they had 2 second rounders in the previous two drafts, so maybe that makes up for it, not to mention that they've been good picks pending Parsons getting going. Dube, Rasmus and Oliver.
I'm with you on rentals - it's not just you.

I think the Flames should hold onto Bennett until the summer at least. He has playoff beast written all over him and he has consistently been one of our better players in the really big games of the season.
1st, Dube, Bennett seems too rich and not enough money going out on our end.

This is a deal that could provide cap relief to activate Sekera off of LTIR. I imagine Talbot is gone today or tomorrow.

How many goalies does Philly need? Isn't Elliott coming back soon?
