It's true. Not saying he's not justified, but that'll never be a winning coach dynamic, in my opinion. Just seems like it's not going to do anything but further drive wedges between the players and the coaches.

I dunno, the team is fully screwed all the way around. Hitch watching Gully huck sticks from the press box can't save the Oilers.

Nothing can.

Nothing.

Even when I was coaching football, as a OC I would take one practice a week to let my receivers and running backs coach run the practice while I got a from up high view of the offense. I would also see who wasn't working hard, executing well.

I think the complaint is that Hitch never takes the ice either.

He shouts at you from the bench.

The message tends to lose its steam that way.

From ESPN’s trade deadline predictions, lol:

http://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/2...trade-deadline

Quote:
Alex Chiasson is the only Oiler to move at the deadline. Edmonton has other assets to move on expiring contracts and ones with term, but Chiasson's cap hit and playoff experience with the Cup winning Capitals make him the only desirable acquisition. The Oilers are like a buffet with one tray of off-brand mac-and-cheese and the rest of it is weird Jell-O

First of all 'Winning' and 'The Oilers' are literally like Oil and Water. They'll never mix no matter how badly you may want them to.

Secondly, I think Hitch is pulling out all the stops.

The Coach not showing up for practice is an enormous "Go F Yourselves."

Its not a long-term winning strategy but Hitch isnt a long-term coach.

Do we know what hes getting paid? It had better be a ton to come out of retirement for this dog and pony show.

Hitch has a bad combo. He's not going to get them into the POs, he's probably not there after this year, he's not likable and he coaches a hard style. Not a recipe for a buy-in from a team.

People who gripe about the #Sabres really should watch an #Oilers game. These guys play with absolutely no pride, especially in their own zone. They're an embarrassment. Hitch should retire again. I know he's from Edmonton but he doesn't need this.

Love the comments
"Did you ever stop and think that these guys are mentally exhausted?"

Edmonton has that effect on people.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

That video is almost unbelievable. One of the comments nailed it: That level of effort is unacceptable... in BEER league!

Hitch should staple those two to the bench and just take the loss. At least the rest of the team might give him some respect.

Oilers did win against Penguins in the McDavid era. Only McDavid didn't play when Edmonton won. McDavid was injured when the win happened.

87 > 97 thus far. When will McDavid learn to show up against Crosby?

How can you expect to win when your only players even remotely capable of scoring absolutely refuse to play defense? Throw them out, 50/50 chance the puck is in your net, sit them and 0 chance to score lol. Must be maddening to coach that tire fire

The last time the Penguins had a regulation loss to the Oilers was Crosby's rookie season.

McDavid played 25 minutes tonight. How in the world are both McDavid and Draisaitl benched after that?
