I will always dislike him because he:
-Is rainted by the Oiler No Goodness
-Is ALWAYS overly covered by the media
-Doesn't have much outward personality, and I think that's bad for the sport in general
-Is not as defensively sound as some other elite players, and some people overlook that

Also I'm kind of irrational, so there's that too.

Toronto, so the media hyperbole can be concentrated (I mean, they can't fawn over the Leafs much more than present as it is).

To Toronto:
McDavid
a defenceman from Ari

To Arizona:
Matthews
Lucic

To Edmonton:
Nylander
OEL

(picks + prospects to balance it out as needed).

The funny thing is, this is a pretty awful deal for Edmonton, but their team would be far closer to competing.

Definitely the east because then I could enjoy the highlights.
I would like buffalo but I dont think they have the pieces and I think they would stick to their guy in eichel.

The redwings would be cool because I actually like them, but really dont deserve to have another legendary player quite yet. They have been crazy blessed with talent for a long time already, though the city could use another pick me up.

Could Philadelphia make another lindros level move? That move got the avalanche their cups. I think the fan base would be wary... lindros was just as good as McDavid before stevens labotimied him.

Bobby could be selling Boston pretty hard... I cant see it though.

Columbus makes a lot of sense. No OBC to speak of, McDavid would easily be the best player in franchise history and could probably grow into a permanent role there. Close to home but American market so less spotlight. Great pieces on the back end and tortorella would probably be given the hook before he got there. They're pretty much the anti edmonton.
Would probably take something like dubois + werenski + to get it done, but it would be transformative for the franchise.

Oh man, imagine holding out until December because you think you're the odd man out, and then getting traded to Edmonton.

Flames have been past the first round twice since 89' and haven't drafted higher than a bust at 4th overall

How on Earth do some of you feel bad for other fan bases

It will be the Rangers.
Messier, Gretzky, Lowe, Anderson, Beuekeboom, Tikkanen, Graves... It's pretty much his destiny to spend a bit of time playing out of MSG.

He should sign with Kings for a few years. In his last year in LA, maybe rental in St. Louis. Then sign with Rangers in off season, play a couple years there before retiring.

Yeah, LA. Just to rub it in for the older Oiler fans.

He is the best player on my most hated sports franchise of all time. I’m sick of seeing his face on my TV when I’m trying to watch the Flames. I’m sick of seeing 600 articles about him every season. He is annoying. I hate reading his name. I hate saying his name. I hate listening to him in interviews. I just can’t stand him. And yes, the hatred is purely because he is an Oiler but you know what? That’s enough for me. If you don’t hate him that’s fine but I don’t think it’s hard to understand why other Flames fans might hate him.

Hopefully Philly and that this will put them in cap hell therefore staying away from Johnny!

But who cares as long as it's funny!

Those Florida and Buffalo trade proposals look awful from a hockey perspective. Not only are you gutting your own team, you have take back Lucic too? The only way it makes sense is if McDavid becomes the face of hockey and you cash in on the business side.

If we're looking down the road, Anaheim might be a landing spot in a couple of years. Once Getzlaf and Perry (and Kesler) are off the books, and assuming they've drafted well, it could be an ideal situation for McSunshine.
