The sens trade Cole 3 days later for a 3rd and a career AHLer.

In the end the Sens got a pretty significant return for Brassard
Ahh, right! Completely overlooked all that!

Thanks for the clarification

One of the depth D names mentioned during the 2nd intermission that really intrigues me is Adam McQuaid. Tough as ####, ideal for a mean playoffs.

Double dip and grab Zuccarello or Hayes... Or Kreider at the same time.

Then don't bother. Dube, Kylington, or a first is way too high for a 3rd or 4th line rental player.

If we're are talking to the Panthers about Brassard, I wonder if we can get Reimer as well. He could work as a tandem with Rittich next year. Florida is looking to get Goalie Bob anyways and might be willing to trade Reimer.

I'd rather have Talbot than Reimer

I think Talbot could be a good backup behind an NHL calibre defence.

I still think Tre signs him as a UFA this summer - doubtful we pick him up before the deadline this month though

Reimer is a buy out candidate. We can “get” him at any time, but who would want him with that contract

What would be the cap effect if we were to acquire Luongo and he retires after the playoffs?

Three way trade grab Talbot, give our first and second for Howard and a defender, but any which way we need a 1b goalie for sure. Smith is Elliott 2.0 but older and worse.

I would like some one like Brian Boyle as depth forward. Can play center if there is injuries or make our fourth line much better. Price should be cheap.

Perfect. There are a ton of cheap options to load up a fourth line and extra forward with. Spend cheap draft picks to get em all.

Two guys I would be interested in targeting from a toughness perspective are Lawson Crouse and Radko Gudas. I dont think either would be terribly expensive, and I really think it would cut out some of the crap like last night. Flames looked like little punks, we got gooned.

Crouse and kuemper for 2019 2nd, mangiapane and Mason McDonald

Gudas for 2019 3rd

Gudas would be awesome IMO but he has 3.5 cap hit this year and next but his toughness and down right meanness would go a long way in stopping/preventing crap like last night.

Does it prevent it though?
Is he out in the last minute trying to tie the game, preventing the cheap shot on Gaudreau?
Wilson plays (played) on the Caps second line. Peters going to put Gudas out with Backlund? Wing with Monahan? Drop Bennett to 4th line?

Gudas is a defender, solid defensively also.

Crouse and kuemper for 2019 2nd, mangiapane and Mason McDonald

Gudas for 2019 3rd
First, we don’t have a 2019 2nd.

Second, Arizona isn’t trading Crouse, especially for that package

Third Gudas is a Defenceman, he will not be deployed with Backlund or Monahan

Who said gudas would be deployed like that? Do different d pairings not get out on the ice with different forward pairing throughout the game? Of course they do.

Yeah I lowballed for crouse but they picked him up for relatively little. For him and Kuemper I would be willing to go higher. It was a suggestion.

Looking at Gudas corsi details he seems to be a very solid performer. I was surprised to see his numbers as high as they were
I wonder if you could get Philly to retain a little salary too?
He does Czech a lot of boxes as a player the Flames should look at.
I also recall something about him and BSD being buddies?
