Oh, there is great news! Bob says they are going to commiserate with Conner regularly to see what he thinks. Super! Barely in his 20's and now he will be a snitch for upper mgmt.

McDavid is gonna bolt like Lebron. Generational talent wasted because of an incompetent front office not being able to attract enough help.

"expect to be in the playoffs"
Good luck with that!
http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/W.../Edmonton.html
Lost to Detroit 2-3, playoff odds down 5.6 to 9.4%
They really can't lose more than 10 games at this point.

This was idiotic.

It is like the timing of the waivers and signing Kosco the next day... It is all about optics up there. How can the OBC get through this without tarnishing their image.
Easy;
Blame Chia if the waiver / signing moves go bad.
If the goalie turns into a stud, the OBC will take credit for it.
Never change Edmonton, never change.
I am sad to see Chia go, but look forward to the next chapter of failure.

He was asked if Chia made the decision to re-sign Koskinen. He stated that the old boys club made the decision. Could have left it there, but continued to talk and explicitly stated that the club chose Koskinen over Talbot.
You don't do that to a player.

But there is no old boys club. Got it.

The first rule of OBC is you do not talk about OBC.

The Oilers planet is tidally locked, and they're on the dark side.

I've always found the cutoff for regulation losses to make the playoffs is about 33 or 34. Maybe a little more leeway because of the crappy west this year.
Oilers have to go like...22-10.
But they'll make the playoffs and get help to do it without giving up their 1st or any high end prospects.

I think the most hopeful thing for Flames fans is when Nicholson said the new GM must "fit the culture of the Oilers"

I like that he finished with "I hope that Cam continues to play well for us." or something to that effect.
