I could see them dressing Klefbom too before he's ready. It's playoffs or bust up north.

Wasn't there that whole Sheldon Souray episode as well? He was injured and they continued playing him or something.

Ok.... A man's job is on the line here, you can't sit out McDavid because he is responsible for over 53% of the Oilers' goals - who is going to make up that difference? They won't win without him in their line-up, it's almost a certainty at this point. I know you guys don't like Chia - but his jobs in on the line here and I would think it's everyone's duty on here to protect that from happening - I mean, do you really want to rename this thread - it's that bloody serious here.

It's not the flu.... it's way worse... it's the loss of hope and the realization that he's stuck in Edmonton for another 7 seasons after this one. I think he's realizing that his dream of winning a Stanley Cup in Edmonton are over.

Now I ask you.... what would you look like if you just realized all that... I'm betting about the same.

That was the picture I was talking about earlier in this thread. I wish I knew how to add pictures and stuff but I'm an idiot with that stuff. Honestly though, he really does look like the guy that was bitten by the zombie and hasn't told the rest of the group.

And out of desperation.... they are making crazy trades.

Ryan Strome has 11 points since leaving the Oil and is seemingly getting his stride back... Ryan Spooner has 3 points and has been healthy scratched recently.... great desperation trade.

Damn, McDavid looks like he's been affected by the Raccoon City virus, and is going to start eating brains soon.

Seriously though, guy looks worn out. They're just running him into ground. What a joke of a franchise. They were gifted such a talented player, and all they're going to do is ruin him by overplaying him, submitting him to their toxic culture, and give him no hope at all.

Guess part of this is on McDavid for signing that 8 year contract. Could have just did 4 and looked forward to a big payday and a good team to go to in 3 more years.

Its fan service and they desperately need it and it looks like he totally just bailed. For an Organization that is so in tune with their own propaganda this is poor optics.

Well, he should have known better when they told him that he had to sign his contract with his own blood.

Under Todd McLellan Connor McDavid was playing an average of 22:13 TOI/GP which breaks down into 17:43 EV ice-time, and a whopping 4:03 per game on the powerplay. McDavid does not kill penalties.

Since Hitchock took over McDavid is now playing 23:24 TOI/GP—more than a FULL MINUTE of added ice time per game. But more tellingly, McDavid's powerplay time is down nearly a minute to 3:13 PP/GP, and his EV minutes are up to 19:56 per game. That's more than a 2:00 increase of even-strength ice time per game.

In short, Hitchock has McDavid playing more minutes overall, but considerably more harder minutes than he played under McLellan.

Hitchcock doesn't care what happens beyond this season. Chiarelli doesn't care what happens beyond this season. What a time to be alive!

There are other centers with similar minutes to McDavid and they don't look like death warmed over.

I would be interested to see what percentage of NTC/NMC in the history of the cap have included Edmonton.

It wouldn't surprise me to have it over 95% and maybe even 100%.

There are rumours Bobby Orr is in Edmonton. His agency reps McDavid. They could be there to check on Connor and give the Oilers a tongue lashing for what's going on there regarding his health.
