They have the greatest player since Crosby and have also drafted 3 more #1 overalls. They are still in the running for another #1 overall pick. Adding one more 19 year old to their team isn’t going to magically fix it. Why would you be worried?
That hit on McDavid was extremely dangerous and you hate to see these kinds of liberties taken on the star players ... but we have seen this how many countless times on Johnny this year with hardly the same media attention as McDavid is receiving right now. Perfect example was the hit he received from Jordie Benn early this year:
Not one of the outraged members of the media even mentioned this play and its a prime example of hits we are trying to get out of the game against a player that has had more points than McSaviour numerous times this year.
Nope he is an adult. McDavid is just "that good"..
Except Gaudreau has jumped ahead of him twice in the scoring race this week. For being so generational he should be able to easily outscore the likes of gaudreau.

As I mentioned several pages back, he also plays ~10 minutes more per game than Johnny.

The World Ends when you're dead. Until then, you've got more punishment in store. - Flames Fans
If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
I have seen a lot of hits on lots of stars on all NHL teams this year. Most of them were not called. I guess the Oilers are trying to have McNotAsGoodAsTheyThinkHeIs declared as a "no touch" player so he can just skate around without fear of touching.
There was a day last week that I start to feel the tiniest amount of pity for that fan base. Then I remember that almost every member of that other board added Mc to their user names after they won their 4th lottery. Crisis averted.
My dad started feeling sorry for them. Couldn't grasp how they could suck for so long so he was like man, poor Oilers. Then I reminded him of the 80s and in typical dad fashion, he didn't admit he was wrong, but quickly changed the subject.
It’s a beautiful bluebird morning in July, the kind of golf weather that settles on postcards and pamphlets, and Ron MacLean misses his putt to talk hockey.

On the Edmonton Oilers’ 2015-16 playoff hopes:
“Fantastic. I think for sure playoffs. I tell you who’s going to be lights-out this year is Jordan Eberle and Taylor Hall.
“They went over to the World Championship and played with Crosby, which is similar to Messier and Gretzky. Not that they needed any encouragement but those two Oilers flanked Mario Lemieux at the crucial moment of the Canada Cup in ’87. Now you have two Oilers flanking Sid to a gold. You watch Eberle take off. He’s already been great in international hockey, but I think this is going to be his year, Taylor Hall’s year.
“And Connor McDavid and Darnell Nurse will fit in. Gimme a glass of wine or a beer, and I think in two years they win the Cup. That may be a little eager, but I don’t think more than four.
