I wanted to point this out. Monahan got 3 points tonight. What a garbage 2nd line Centre.

Yes, but everyone else will hate it.

not taking anything away from Calgary - love the city but stop it with the put down of other cities that are also a good place to be and raise a family
Ah yes, the good old "Moneysense rankings" argument. Actually, it's not good because it's cheap: it's cheap because it sucks.

So.. pretty bad miss by the ref there I guess. Whatever. It's over.
I thought Jankowski dropped to a knee but I didnt notice him use his hand to play the puck. I'd there a better angle of this?

Looks like a cagey play to me; sometimes those go missed and that’s the gamble players take good on Janko there realizing he could get away with it. We’ve had that same call go against us just like you have had it go in the Jets favour like it did for us last night. It’s not that big of a controversy; it’s a hockey play that had and will continue to happen because the game is fast.

Looks to me like the linesman had dropped the puck and the faceoff was "deemed over", before Janko pushed the puck with his hand. As the next person to touch the puck was a Winnipeg stick, there was no hand pass either. So no infraction occurred.

Hand passes are permitted in your own zone.

Yeah that's not what happened. Janko won the face off by batting the puck before a 3rd player touched it, which means he gambled on the ref missing it and he won the gamble. But it's clearly an infraction.

Well, in the pic/gif you posted, you can clearly see Hamonic getting hooked that went uncalled that was clearly an infraction as well. In case you missed it.

I had just got home from Chatham, Ontario for Christmas when I turned on the game. Haven't had Rowdy watching since the SO loss to the Bolts. Was so glad for the win, we are back on track now! Hope Johnny Hattrick is okay.. makes me sick to think he would be injured by that useless bag of puke

Last night illustrated just how important goaltending is. I'm sure there have been a couple, but off-hand, I can't think of any other games this year that the goalies won. How many times can we even say that we won the goaltending battle. We have certainly had a few games that the goaltending lost. And multiple games where we lost the goaltending battle but still managed to win.

Look at ANA - a mediocre team that wins the goalie battle every night. And that's why they are right behind us in the standings. The Flames are a great team that virtually never wins the goalie battle. If Rittich starts to consistently give us A level tending, this team is in the conversation with Tampa for best team in the league. At worst, they run away with the Pacific title.

Probably Kylington's best game - he has been getting better with every game and is now, without question, an NHLer. We now have 8 legitimate NHL defensemen. Two guys are hurt right now, and the D looked fantastic last night against one of the best offensive teams in the league, in their barn.

Also, god damn WPG fans are whiny bitches. They might be as bad as Oiler fans.

In any given game, and in particular last night, there are a dozen or so non-calls that are technically penalties. Whining about any particular one of them, especially one that had no direct impact on the play, after a 4-1 game, is reaching to to say the least.

I mean, ignoring all your chirping about whining fanbases (which is priceless irony btw) I think it's really rich to describe the Janko play that way. He won the faceoff illegally then he himself scored seconds later. So instead of a 5-3 with 3 mins or so left in the game the Jets were down 2. Yeah, no direct impact for sure lol.
