Over half. It's the point of the video. The poster thought they all were. Or at least he sure goes down easy.

It's why I no longer follow the NBA. It's corrupt.

My mistake. I thought it was a pro Oiler propaganda video.

NBA: Corrupt (and caught at it in the past).
CFL: Just terrible. I can't even...
MBA: Inconsistent but not on game changing moments, typically, so no one squawks.
NHL: Can be bad, but look how fast it's going, and what has to be decided in milliseconds.
NFL: Darn good officiating generally. But lots of time to make a call.
Soccer: Call an embellishment already.
Rugby: The best officiating out there.

It probably could be. No doubt they'd say "look at all these non-calls".

Actually, while the poster I took that from thought so, I now see it posted on HF Oil as evidence of non calls. LOL

Not in the spirit of the thread, but there are definitely missed calls in that montage.
(The hooks/slashes on the breakaways are the most obvious.)
But yes, most of those are just battles, with tough hockey players giving him no space and pushing him around. That's a strength issue, nothing more.

You can make a video of missed calls over multiple seasons for any star player.

Sure, but that same video could be compiled for various players from virtually every single team in the NHL. McDud is not a special snowflake. The fact that Oilers fans and media(!) petulantly whine about this is utterly pathetic.

yep.
the high sticks are obvious missed calls. but I mean, we see a couple of those a game. nevermind elbows, cross-checks, etc.
And in the playoffs....that stuff is just allowed, especially if you're playing Anaheim....
(so yes I agree you could make a montage of any player and show missed calls. I guess my original point was just to say that saying "they're 'all' dives" is also asinine.)

The hooks sure, but the slashes are in a lot of cases not really relevant to what this video is trying to do as many of them are from a couple of years ago before they clamped down on "the tap" aka slashing the hands. No one was getting those calls 2 years ago.

Yeah, a lot of embellishments for sure. For a generational talent. he sure is weak on his feet. He barely gets touched and just falls like a wet tissue.
Some of those examples looked like the kind of situation when maybe the ref could have called both but chose to keep the play going instead of stopping the play for offsetting penalties.
I hope they do start calling McDiver more though and he starts getting fined. He is making a farce of the game.

Watch him when he thinks he can make the play - he sure seems strong enough on his feet then.

The Oilers fan base is collectively losing their #### while once again making everything about McDavid and not actually understanding why they lose games. They cannot grasp that maybe the league knows how to defend McDavid better and can solely gameplan for him because the rest of their roster is complete and utter trash. Calls are missed all the time for every dynamic player in the league, they are once again looking like the spoiled child of the NHL. Such an arrogant and entitled fan base it continuously blows my mind.

More sports should aspire to Rugby's officiating standards and even more so the respect they demand of the players to the referee.
