I can’t speak for everyone, but I’m tolerant of his struggles because the team is winning and in 1st place. If this was a team battling for a wildcard spot it might be a more glaring issue but I really don’t think it’s that big a deal right now.

The guy clearly has no confidence right now, fortunately the team can afford to let him battle through it.

Looks like Hathaway can take shower, he won't be in Peter's 3rd period Nine.

Neal hasn't had chemistry with anyone on the team yet. I'm not sure what to do with him but it hasn't really been much of a concern since as a team they have carried the mail without him.

I completely agree. Never give a team life no matter what the score is.

The "axe-to-grind" posters are the easily identified on this site, and have a tendency to wear out their welcome very quickly.

yes, but it seems like they could easily be good in the 2nd period too. don't understand the customary lulls

Not the attitude I would take. I hope Peters hammers home that they need to clean up in the defensive zone and quit giving the Blues breathing room, I don't want this turning into a classic trap game

He hasn't had chemistry because he's not even playing nhl level hockey out there.

I don't know what he's doing but he looks like a guy who decided to float into the sunset with his 5.75 mil with no shame.

that line's blown a couple of exits. the first goal was on quine for looping back for no reason and then losing it in the neutral zone while the rest of the team changed

Imagine having literally only one opinion that you repeat ad nauseam to everybody at all times.

Meh, the 2nd period has mostly been what we saw today for the Flames. The 3rd for them is as consistent as anything they do out there. No reason to doubt IMO.

If we are buyers at the deadline or as the season progresses, we need another RW, and we need a goalie, and probably another defence man. Right now we don't have any options for top-6 RW if Neal isn't going. Hathaway is who I'd try in that spot for 5 games.

Tkachuk-Backlund-Hathaway - It's defensive strong, has special teams balance, and has a hard-nosed corners RW. Hathaway was scoring at the same rate as Jankowski and Mangiapane in the AHL, he could be a David Moss type player with more 5v5 time.

Come on. The guy is part of the team. Neal is not earning his pay in the scoring department right now, but he has not made the team worse by being on it.

I think it was the 4-0 lead. They probably feel like they did the work and now just play out the clock and go home.

If it was 1-1 I think we see a different 2nd.

There’s a small group that won’t tolerate any negativity about Neal in this forum. They were about to nominate him for the leagues MVP based on his fluke assist last night.
It's complete BS and it takes away from what should a a GT thread any fan should be enjoying.

You should try it sometime.

I'm cutting them some slack for that period. Second half of BTB, they embarrassed the home team in the first, a little push by St. Louis after a goalie change as well. And it wasn't like they collapsed, just had a couple lapses and not as much momentum.
