Sole possession of first place in the Division on US Thanksgiving since ... I don't know ... I looked back to 2003 and gave up.

They shared first in the NW with the Canucks on US Thanksgiving in 2005, which was also the last year the Flames won their Division in the regular season.

In deference to all of the other posters, it's the main reason I come to the PGT.

Also, I can only guess at the time it takes to prepare the ATL. Hat's off to Gaskal for all the effort. I suspect it might be very cumbersome to get to, especially after watching the game live... probably loses sleep compiling these for us.

That is a great idea, I had to go to his profile the other day to find it. Some people have to work etc. so it is nice to be able to find it quickly.

Definitely a lesson to be learned in taking your foot off the gas, especially against a good team. Vegas went pretty quietly but the Jets put up a fight.

I was worried when Bennett went off, that looked like it could've been a broken hand from blocking the shot. Good to see him come back.

Valimaki got benched for the last 12 minutes, and looks like Peters tried to rotate 5 guys for a few shifts before giving up and benching Andersson as well. Tough night for Valimaki but I'm sure he'll learn and be better for it. Nice luxury to have such a solid top 4 we can lean on while we invest in developing those two.

I'm sure it's just score effects, but hopefully we get some more consistent effort next game. Rittich came up huge in the second or that could've been a comeback for the ages from the Jets.

Haven’t looked in the thread yet, as we just got home from the game. Just love the fact that when I turned on the car and the first thing I heard was Wills saying “you’re going to need a proctologist to find that.”

Seriously, didn’t know Wills could make me laugh that much! Lou was speechless and was stuttering his next sentence.

Jets are a contender...they were gonna push back

If the roles were reversed tonight we would have said "too little too late"

Good first and nice recovery in the third...puck over glass and broken stick would have shaken a lesser team. The locked it down pretty well after that considering the opponent.

ATL should be a thread on its own, like GDT, GT, PGT

eg
[ATL] Jets @ Flames

After all the assets spent on trying to get a no.1 goalie of course it just makes sense that the guy who looks to be our goalie saviour was acquired for free.

Yeah I would rather the refs not call chincy calls. I didn't see anything blatant on Winnipeg's part.

I don't really understand how tripping the goalie isn't tripping, but otherwise I liked that the refs let them just play other than the penalties that were black and white.

And will probably sign a pretty decent contract.

Winnipeg must really be hating Calgary this week.

So how are we feeling about Peters? Pretty good coach imo. I’m glad Treliving didn’t waste time sitting down with every available guy. Tre knew who he wanted and he went and got him. Looks like the right move.

i like the fact that Peters will shorten the bench when things get tight... Personally, i think it shows that he has a better 'feel' for the game... better than sticking to a rotation regardless of how the flow of the game is going
