Also in general the coach and GM talked to us very little. It’s almost like they have some top secret information. I think it’s unfathomable… Communication should be more open, like it is in Europe. Here it goes like it should. In the NHL it feels like the coach is one great ego. Of course the coach will talk to the players about random things, but never about anything personal or things related to your own game.”
Pakarinen said he could not comment on whether this was an issue with Puljujarvi.

That's funny. Taylor Hall also mentioned something about it during his first year in NJ, and how most of them even sort of avoided the coaches. In NJ, he found that the coaches would be both much more approachable and would seek conversations with individual players.
Heck, Hartley was an over-the-top hard-ass (which was the biggest reason he was let-go), but he would have conversations with players all the time.
How could you not have conversations with your players and let them know what they need to work on? That's like the very basics of coaching, no?

Apparently not in Edmonton, they have a master plan. We just to sit tight and wait for it.

That's a little bit scary actually. I would love it if the Flames lays a huge beating on the Oilers, but on the other hand you would have to think that a bad loss to the Flames would have a high chance of becoming the straw that breaks the camels back in Edmonton, and it would be terrible if we became the trigger for change within the Oilers organization. As been firmly established by many though, no one or nothing can save the Oilers, so I guess it's not that risky after all.

Your right that would be terrible! It''s starting to make sense now, they have GG waiting in the wings.

Is that why Ol' Gul goes to every game dressed like hes going to a funeral and carries a Voodoo Doll of MacLellan with him everywhere he goes?
"Come on Todd.....screw up....do it!!"
I'd say that maybe Gulutzan is in fact an undercover Flames agent who plans to destroy the Oilers from within but knowing Gulutzan he'd screw that up and besides, the Oilers dont need the help.
Sucking just comes naturally to them. Its like 'Being Objectively Terrible' is their official Organizational Mantra.

Yes, that is the essence of coaching. I have experience coaching at a high, amateur level in Canada and this was the best way to get players to continue to work on themselves. The selfish players didn't listen anyway, the ones with the parents in the background that knew better than the coaching staff, those types.
Anyway, the kids that excelled, were the ones who wanted feedback on everything. We always let players know why they were sitting and what they needed to work on. Looking back, I would have provided even more feedback, I bet they would have loved it.
Coaches should be constantly giving feedback, after every practice, just a little tidbit and especially to those who aren't in the lineup. They need to know why. It isn't fair not to tell them anything. That is a terrible coach in my eyes.

I'm not afraid of a change in coach, or even GM up there at this point. The damage is done. They have no cap space to improve the team, and the team is bad.

Looks like Draisaitl might be on Mcdavid's line tonight. Only took 17 games.

Is this to try and get McDavid going, lol? He's been pretty average lately.

Right now the Oilers are 23rd in the league, have a -8 goal differential, are on a four game losing streak, and have no cap space. Ahhh.. The Chiadenfreude, it feels so good, I believe it is actually warming my coffee.

Left wing lock has Caggiula playing on the top line. Like it matters.

reading HF Oilers is almost Shakespeare at this point.
“Men at some time are masters of their fates:
The fault, dear Chia, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves, that we are underlings.”
