Backlund, Neal, Tkachuck have been dog poo the last 5 periods. One dominant period out of 3M or those three would make for a great finish to this roadtrip.

Agree why not just go for it in the third. Leave it all out there.

Can we please stop with the sexism nonsense Cassie is fair game for criticism as much as anyone else gender has zero to do with it. How many times have we mocked play by play and colour guys, all the time.

Tie it up in the third. Win in OT. Head to the airport.
There’s your game plan.

First time in a long time watching a game with Cassie doing colour. She is fine. Either posters are projecting their frustration with specific games on her or are looking for issues. She is far from the worst out there but for some reason she gets more criticism than many others. I will let each of you evaluate your own biases on this matter, but the level of complaining is not reflective of her abilities.

Smith has kept them in the game this far. Time to find the next gear in the third and reward him with a win.

You have your opinion and I have mine genius. If you’ve ever played he game in your life you’d realize there is a massive difference between then women’s game during her tenure and the NHL, game wise and behind the scenes.
Could she do then women’s game as an color analyst sure. Let her continue to do it. Then as she gets more polished and better let her transition to NHL. There are far better options for those who haven’t NHL experience and similar on air time who could have take notice this spot.

Ya but nobody mocks any of those other commentators by saying things like they only got their jobs because of their husbands lol
You’re right about her being fair game for criticism, but the criticism she receives is anything but fair.
Not to mentions criticism of other commentators usually dies out pretty quick, rather than lasting the entire gt like Cassie does every time

My opinion is that you have some deep seated personal inadequacies and evaluate Cassie Campbell's analysis through a different lense than male analysts because of her gender.
Further, the amount of complaining about analysts in these game threads is just plain weird. An obsession for some of you

I'm sure there some of that in here. In fact, I have no doubt.
But there's also white knights like yourself who automatically assume people don't like her because she's a woman.
I think she's monotone, her insights are useless at best, wrong at worst. Her comments are too long most of the time not allowing Rick to call the play.
I suggested Sandra Prusina to do color since she can call a game by herself, and she's a professional. She understands sports, she wasn't just a great player. I think they threw Cassie this gig because she's probably the 2nd most recognizable female hockey player in the world despite there being better choices. I have a daughter and I think its wonderful (and important) to have female role models in traditionally male roles, but again, Cassie is not the best choice.
I will say no more on this subject ever again.

Perhaps you guys should make a separate thread for your Cassie argument and continue the conversation there? That would be swell. Thanks.

A lot of the critiques come with "I'm all for women commentators but..." or "if they're determined to have a woman...". If it's just a criticism of the calling, then that's unnecessary.

"Set female commentators back 20 years. Only got her job because she's a female and married to Flames brass. She never played in the NHL so can't comment on the game at this level."
Call it like you see it, IMO.

If having a woman’s name as your avatar is sexist then isn’t the NHL sexist? They don’t allow women to play in their league.
