Wasn’t just the fact that the first goal was weak. Smith was clearly fighting the puck. Should have been pulled much earlier in my opinion

Smith's body language suggests he just came to the realisation that his isn't good anymore.

They need to keep pushing though, even though this game is pretty much over. At least get some Pp practice in frick
The Flames were in full control of this game until the soft goal. That clearly impacted the way they played, giving up chances they shouldn’t have. It’s also not like this is one off game for Smith, he’s let in a lot of bad goals this season. If the Flames lose this game, it’s on him.

Sir Archibald Nubbly is generating his 'when the Flames were great' look for a come-from-behind incredible win in the third.

Rittich in the third?
He left Smith out way too long in the Pittsburgh game, but the difference in this one is up until 5 minutes ago the Flames were still battling

I wasn’t watching Bennett and am at the game so don’t have much replay, but it looked to me that Cole took his gloves off almost instantly after that hit because he knew it was coming.

Somewhere David Cameron is laughing.
Needs to be better. But 4–14 is the story tonight. This is the NHL. You need goaltending. Like you a need a good (if not great) QB in the NFL.

No it's not. It's on Geoff Ward, the guy they hired specifically to run the powerplay.

It's actually on Ward first and foremost.
I get that it can take time to break bad habits, but this powerplay is soul-deadeningly awful. Ward needs to push hard and turn the tide of pathetic.

And? That was still a bad, lazy play to lead to that goal.
I have a lot of tolerance for players who make sloppy plays if they bring a lot of other valuables to the ice.
Gaudreau does that...Smith does not.
