He probably figured , #### it Smith won't stop it anyways.

Smith probably has the worst stats of any starting goalie in the league, Gaudreau is top ten in scoring...... I wonder why.....

What is stopping them from giving Rittich a shot to fix this. Smith is obviously not the stingy goalie this PP needs.
Smith was basically pitchforked into the net on that play, it wasn't going to count.

Four goals on ten shots.

I guess it’s time for Treliving to start feeling the heat again.

Think they kept fighting at 3-1.

That 4-1 goal was just deflating. Considering that other goal went in too but the whistle went...I don’t blame them.

Going forward it's rittich's net to lose. It has to be. It would be irresponsible for it not to be at this point

They were the better team through two periods. Seems to be the case this season so far.

Best period is the 3rd period. Not sure if a 3 goal deficit can be overcome, but if this is a team that's resurecting the comeback heart attack flames style of years before, it's possible. But they HAVE to get that powerplay producing.

For sure, it is possible but it won't be any good if Smith is bleeding softies all night. This game should be 2-1.

I honestly do. He was alright. He'll push buttons when it matters. I mean yah we got swept but that's only because the Ducks were too effin' lucky. And they were pretty much experts when it comes to playoff hockey unlike the 2016-17 Flames. And that team was coached by Gulutzan. Imaging if Peters was coaching that Flames, he would have at least taken those Flames to a Game 7 loss instead of a Game 4 sweep.

I’ve always cringed at the suggestions of picking up Lehtonen this summer. Now I’d give up my third born child to swap him and Smith.

No, that’s as clean as it gets. Hurts to see our guy get nailed right after our goalie ####s the bed for the zillionth time but that’s a solid hit. Credit Hanifin on the suicide pass.

Then it matters even more right now since a turn over will likely lead to a goal against. It feel like just blaming Smith when that puck should have been deep is a bit off. Maybe mostly Smith's fault, but some of that is on Johnny.

And? That was still a bad, lazy play to lead to that goal.

Really important PP to start the 3rd. If we can get one early, I think we'll be able to make a game of it, provided Rittich is in net.

Varlamov hasn't made a save that the average goalie wouldn't expect to make either. Smith has been total butt but the Flames are still down 2-1 even if he's perfect.

They need to keep pushing though, even though this game is pretty much over. At least get some Pp practice in frick
