We play too soft. Our d men are ...too soft. It was so nice to have Hamonic back in the line up

Howard and Crawford both have higher career save percentages than any Flames goalies ever. Crawford is elite right now. Howard was quite good a while ago.
They may not be world-beaters , but they're a lot better than anything we've had lately.

Save percentage is mainly a team stat.

Honestly I think they played better tonight than they did against Montreal. Don't get me wrong, no where near the level they need to be playing at, but just one of those things where everything that could go wrong does go wrong.

Isn't that Goals against average that's the team stat?

God damn.
Just watched the highlights from that one. 9-1 and the only Flames goal is a total fluke? Yikes. That was a 1980's bad type loss.

Not sure why everyone is so negative in this thread? Seemed like great value to see a 10 goal hockey game.

I left the Dome with 13 minutes left in the second. That’s a new record for me.

I wonder if things with this core are just simply stale. Backlund, Frolik, Giordano, Gaudreau, Monahan and Brodie still get the lions share of the ice time, they are the locker room leaders, and yet this unrelenting mediocrity persists. I just don't see the sustained effort game to game that is the hallmark of a contending team.
I still think we are weak down the middle. I've never been convinced by Backlund, though I know the analytics seem to back him up, or at least they used to. Monahan has a wonderful shot, and does a pretty good job up the middle but I see him as a lower tier number one centre. Also it's been about 7 games now since he has scored a goal, he needs to be more consistent.
Still a lot of time for this team to figure things out.

Anybody know what Hrudey was alluding to in the third when he said Hathaway had the Pens upset and so they were trying to rub it in?
I have no problem with the Pens (one of the few teams I can't think of anybody on the team I despise) but running up the score 9-1..... Do we play them again? If so, remember this one. And don't play like **** next time.

You say that like the team had a choice about going to China.

Watched the game with a friend from Pittsburgh. He started to feel really sorry for me halfway through the second period.
Dear lord what a garbage fire that was.

Flames were just trying to let Pittsburgh rate Red Dead Redemption 2. Looks like 9/10

So I’ll be the ####### who says it...
Have we held on too long with Gio?
Don’t get me wrong, he is still our best d man, but is his leadership waning? Is he losing a step? I just don’t know if he’s the right leader for this group anymore

The worst thing, actually, it’s not the worst, but it is high up there. A butt kicking was coming. Some of you saw it coming after the Rangers game.
Most of us put it down as a bad night and a lucky escape.
Then Montreal, that is when I started getting worried. This time we got the big fat nothing that we deserved from the game.
That should have been the wake up call. But all it did was take us back to what we have seen for years.
No confidence.
No accountability.
No leadership.
No pride.
All the signs were there, if we could see it, so should they.
People with pride would have looked at those performances, known they were pathetic and looked at this, a game against the Penguins as a chance to make a statement.
They made their statement.
The same one they have been making for years.
