I was one of the few people here who actually liked the way we were coached. I had no problem with Gulutzan. The stats and the eye test don’t lie though, we’re the WORST team in the league at allowing high danger scoring chances and we were 8th best last season im this department. We give up a 10 bell chance seemingly every other shot.
If Treliving wanted to fire the coach, that’s fine. But at least hold an actual search instead of zoning in on just 1 guy who by the way never even made the playoffs at this level.

Why did the team's preparation drop off a cliff going to New York?
They were playing so well until that point (in spite of goaltending).
I have a hard time even trusting that these guys are going to show up.

Game was a different story before Smith let in the first softy. Night and day. This team was skating with the Pens and looking good.
Mentally weak for collapsing? Hell yes.
That in no way erases the fact the Flames do not have a starting goalie that can play at this level.

Give it up... GG sucked and peters is an improvement whether tonight shows it or not. 2 years of GG was more than enough

I think you're right.
Smith just hasn't looked confident this year. I wonder if he's starting to feel his age a little.
It was going to happen at some point, but I thought he had another good year in him at least. Now, I'm not so sure.
