I was all for elias centering his own line but he looks pretty awesome on the wing with Johnny and Monahan. Hard to give that up.
Him and tkachuk could be a dominant pair though...
Johnny Gaudreau's second half of that game was one of the most impressive things I've seen in I don't know how long. Not only did he singlehandedly win the game in the third by feeding gimme goals to Monahan and Lindholm, he had a solid half-dozen rushes on his own.
This is why anyone suggesting he's some sort of complimentary player - as I have seen on here several times lately - is totally out to lunch. He's a gamebreaker and he utterly broke that game.

I'm not sure how you get a line change when you are hemmed in. It started when the D lost a stick and Johnny gave his up. They couldn't get control.
If the goal is allowed, I guess Johnny doesn't get his on the same power play. I agree it should have been good though.
Johnny was literally standing beside the bench watching the puck go in. Lose your stick, rotate near the bench, and get off (or get a new stick). Monahan was not going to be able to get off. Lindholm similarly had a rotation near the bench.
Great win. Would like Bennett and Jankowski to see some more ice time, and think Neal should be moved up the lineup as well. I honestly think Ryan and Dube should be on that 4th line providing some energy along with Frolik and Czarnik interchanging.
Lindholm looks like a stud. What a release on that game winner.

Johnny was really good. But "gimme goals"? Monnie picked a low corner and squeezed it through and Lindholm's was a laser.
