Thank Christ they didn't start 0-2.

The powerplay looks amazing when everyone is in motion. Who could've known.

Jankowksi is a player and needs more ice time. I can get behind Derek Ryan as the 4th line C, but Mark Jankowksi is the 3rd best centre on this roster.

Smith made the save they needed. And that Vernon mask is a lot sharper in person than in pictures.

I presume this will get better, but Valimaki seems to have issues turning at speed.

Thank Christ they didn't start 0-2.

Huge and important win. Hopefully they can carry on with some more confidence. The numbers show that the Flames controller the play in the two games - goaltending was a factor in the results. Special teams caused us to
lose one and to win one.

Early seasons are weird. I mean, Toronto lost to Ottawa of all teams.

Matthew Tkachuk had one of the sneakiest four-assist games I've ever seen.

Gaudreau, Monahan and Lindholm were outstanding as well.

I know, right? Like does Lindholm even have a dad?

- the called off goal should have been allowed: yes Ryan's stick was in the way, but he was being tackled to the ice. If that's not a goal there is no goal any time the goalie is incidentally pushed, and I'm certain I've seen that called good against Calgary

- Prout: you had *one* job. Lift that stick. You cannot stay in the NHL and let that in.
I'm not sure how you get a line change when you are hemmed in. It started when the D lost a stick and Johnny gave his up. They couldn't get control.

If the goal is allowed, I guess Johnny doesn't get his on the same power play. I agree it should have been good though.

I am still surprised with how much jam Lindholm plays with. Outmuscles guys and makes it hard to play against. Exactly what the top line needs

Yeah... but I dont think Mike smith is a cup winning goalie on his own. We need someone back there who can shoulder the load. We outshot the Canucks badly to fight and the game was close until the end.

I agree they need to get him more time. Heck, at times backlund should be pushed to #3c time and give jankowski a bigger role (when he is feeling it)

Why???? He clearly has chemistry with Gaudreau and Monahan. Keep him there!

Nope, leave him with 13 and 23. Good chemistry and love having the 2 faceoff men on one line.

He was also standing on the goal line and caught a lucky post. He looks like he’s half asleep out there.
