Honestly, from what I saw tonight...

Bennett - Backlund - Czarnik
Tkachuk - Lindholm - Ryan

for next game. Just from the style of play that would compliment each other.

I'm sorry, how was Bennett given chance after chance?

The almighty sharks just lost 5-2 to the ducks so there's that.

Also I want redemption on Saturday. And they better get at least 2 PP goals.

Very disappointing.
The Canucks got behind our defence way to many times.
Teams can do anything they want against the Flames with a power play that bad.
I don't understand the rational of sending Hamonic out to revenge the hit on Dube.
It would be different if he were tough, but I do not see how that is a deterrent.

3 Reasons Why We Lost:

1. Canucks out skated the Flames tonight. Team looked slow and sloppy and a step behind all night. Couldn’t string together plays cleanly and everything was contested.

2. Powerplay: Same old PP. Not a lot of purpose to their passing, puck movement was too slow and telegraphed. Could not bury the few chances they did have.

3. Odd Man Rushes: Not sure if this is just a result of the new pairings, but there were way too many breakdowns and mixed signals. Every goal was a result of odd man situations that favored the Canucks, all of them. Breakways, 2 on 1s, open man in front of the net. Just piss poor defensive coverage today. Peters better figure this part out quick or we’re in serious trouble.

I guess we were watching a different game. Will be interesting to see how many giveaways he had.

Disagree. He was dangerous in the 3rd. The second half of the 3rd. Where was the effort for the first 50 minutes?

What was frustrating about Gaudreau tonight was that he actually showed he was just being lazy for the first 66% of the game. He then appeared, made a statement that he is as good as advertised, and left us all wondering why he didn't do any of this earlier.

Gaudreau wasn't ready. That's on Gaudreau and is unacceptable IMO. How do the likes of Giordano get criticized, when Johnny decided the game started 2 hours after puck drop? It's BS. No more of this "we weren't ready". Why the F not? What do you need to get ready? What is the problem here??

Don’t need to get personal.

I didn’t think lindholm looked great tonight, no one did really.

I’m not gonna opine about Bennett anymore, not worth the time on this forum of people who think he’s worse than yakupov at this point.

Lindholm just hasn’t looked like anything special so far, preseason or game 1

Still just 1 game but not encouraging to see the same crap effort and results

I won't accept a "bad luck" narrative for another season.

Treliving obviously wants an advanced stats darling, but maybe that's the root issue here.

Peters seems far more astute with in-game adjustments already, so I'm not worried yet. I'm still the most concerned with goaltending.

I do like Peters' post-game comments. Definitely embracing the no excuse mentality.

On another positive note, I thought Monahan and Tkachuk were quite good tonight.
Beyond the goals, they seemed to be creating chances and working hard for most of the night.

He’s terrible. Has been for years. Untradable at this point too.

You obviously turned off the game after the second period.

No excuses this season.

Smith lost the goalie battle.

Flames lost the special teams battle horrifically.

Flames possessed the puck and did nothing with it.

They deserved to lose, and they lost.
I feel like they played more not to screw up than to win. Which just leads to screwing up.

They need to start playing fearlessly.

They did after the score got embarrassing since they had nothing to lose at that point and were obviously pissed. But see, that's how they need to play from the start of games.

They have that capability, clearly. So you're right, no excuses.

No, I love it here. The game threads make me laugh all evening. I just need to figure out how to mute certain people. Unfortunately, most of the annoying people I've tried to mute turn out to be moderators and apparently you can't mute them, so I'm stuck with this nonsense.

We definitely didn't play well, but I also think Markstrom played the best game I can remember him playing against us. Ever.

I thought he showed some skill and made some nice plays. But some bad decisions too which aren’t going to sit well with the coach. No idea what he was doing on the first goal.

I will say I enjoyed Czarnik's game and energy. Also liked Dube's game, remembering it was his first in the NHL.
