Have Castle Rock queued up and ready, we just don't watch TV much during the summer.
Happy to hear such good things!

That's been on my shortlist to watch. Just saw the pilot, instantly hooked.

I'm two episodes in and it's so far just good IMO. I see that it's slowly building up to something but is it really going to take five more episodes for something to happen?

No, things definitely happen throughout the show, but episode 7 is on a completely different level from the rest of the series and makes the previous investment very, very worth it.

Sharp Objects ended on HBO last night and it was one hell of an ending. Slow burn over the whole mini-series but the payoff is excellent.

'Peep Show' was added to Prime Video recently. As far as I know, this is the first time its been on streaming service in Canada (though checking YouTube for a clip finds many full episodes.)

If you want to cringe harder than anything David Brent or Michael Scott ever made you, Peep Show is for you.

Peep Show is fantastic. The episode where they do shrooms is a favourite. David Mitchell is the wittiest person in the UK.

This is one of the funniest and saddest things I've seen:

This show was disturbing.
Excellent, but disturbing.

This is only my opinion, but the last 4 episodes made me wish I had stopped after 4. The first 4 episodes were really excellent, then it fell right off a cliff.

Gonna third (fourth?) Disenchantment. It's got Futurama-itis where there is a notable quality swing between episodes, but it's got some real solid back-end writing and I feel like it will be better in a second season.

The last 10-15 minutes of Sharp Objects was quite something, I'm glad I had no knowledge of the story going in to it today. Great direction/editing and production. It reminds me of The Night Of. I don't think either were exceptional stories, but fine craftsmanship and strong performances elevated them into shows worth watching.

You saw the credits as well, correct?

That was important

Oh yeah, I’m glad I didn’t shut it off early.

I was in the ballpark with my guess of who was the killer.

The mention of David Mitchell led to me discovering the series he's in now - Upstart Crow, a kind of Shakespeare does Black Adder. Which isn't surprising, as the co-creator is Ben Elton. Very, very smart and funny. It's on BritBox, and the first couple episodes (along with all the other content I discovered on it) were good enough to move the needle towards getting a subscription to the service.

Rather bold to end it is so abruptly. Had to rewatch credits a couple of times to take it all in. A lot happening there.

"Succession" is my new favorite show. The show is about the children battling for power after a Rupert Murdoch-like figure becomes ill. The dialogue is outstanding and so well-written. I love listening to these characters talk.

Have you recovered from the extreme whiplash of seasons 1 and 2 enough to give season 3 a shot??

Well that was shortlived. Since I posted this, Upstart Crow has been pulled from BritBox. I guess they aren't getting my subscription now.

The way these streaming services pull content without notice drives me ####ing nuts.
