Tkachuk is the ultimate pest, love how he pisses off everyone.
If Bennett could up his game and find a way to center a line with Tkachuk and Neal it would be my favorite line in hockey.
All time favorite is Iggy though. During 3-4 years he was yhe best in the league and almost everyone on the ice feared him. Could beat players so many ways, absolute legend.

So you like watching Bennett for 2 games all year?

Whats the title of the thread? Is it whos the best player? No, it is not. Its who is your favorite player. You want a rationalization as to why I invested more time following Lindholm or Andersson their pre draft years and why I personally like them a bunch? Cant help you there.
One more time just because this seems lost on some, the title is who is your favorite player on the roster.
Sorry Johnny or Gio or whoever you like isnt on my list.

No need to feel attacked. I understand the thread. I am curious as to how you could prefer a player like Lindholm , who has never played a game, to a player like Tkachuk. Or Tuulola over Gaudreau... I’m genuinely curious is all.

Cant pick one, i like pretty much most of them

Tuulola's a longshot to ever play in the NHL, so I wouldn't get too attached. A+ name though.
Anyway, my guy is Tkachuk. Love Gio, Monahan and Gaudreau too!

Each one of those players ive followed intently before their draft year. I have a vested interest in them. Lindholm ive followed even before he was a flame.
Maybe i just like dark horses.

Backlund and Gio are my two favorite players to watch.
Like a lot of the younger players too, especially Monahan. Overall could nitpick a few things but I like this version of the Flames a lot compared to some past teams.

Insiders tell me that no one on the team prepares more, works harder, want to win, more than Tkachuck (with all due respect to Gio).

It's kind of weird...there have been times over the years when I had a clear-cut favourite player on the Flames, but now isn't one of those times. Obviously there are some players that interest me more than others, but mostly right now I want a team that plays as a team.
If I had to get a jersey crested for a current player it would probably be either Tkachuk or Gio. I love Gio's story and Tkachuk's attitude and intensity. Also, both guys are total professionals, which is something I really admire. I have to admit that I find certain players' off-ice behaviour to be really off-putting. I will cheer for them as long as they're wearing the jersey and I do love watching them play, but the kind of person you are away from the rink matters to me.

Gaudreau. First player since McDonald I've actually had their name put on a jersey. Tkachuk is a close second. Monahan, Giordano and Jankowski (the darkhorse) round out the top five. HM to James Neal. He's going to be a beaut!

The chronology of my favorite player over the years is pretty easy.
1. Fleury
2. Iggy
3. Monahan
Prior to Fleury I was too young to know any better and I didn't even understand how a best of 7 series worked.

I'm the same. Often my favorite players are guys I just have a connection to for some other reason. My favorite Flames were guys like Jiri Hrdina and Ron Stern, and later Robyn Regehr not necessarily the best players or the flashy ones, but for whatever guys I just followed more intently and for longer.
On the current team I'm really rooting for Derek Ryan. I like his backstory and had him on my fantasy team for a while (no one cares I know but that's the kind of thing that creates that connection.).
Bottom line is that reasons why we pick our favorite teams and players is largely irrational.

Tkachuk
Bennett is a guy I really want to succeed tho, he'd be up there if he could put it together.
