F2 furniture when they re-open in a couple weeks will have an Endy mattress to check out, which is what I'm going to do before buying. I've all but landed on them due to the reviews, cooling aspect of the bed, and great price. Being Canadian doesn't hurt either.

We have an Endy and it’s been great. Went with it because it’s Canadian.

Costco (online) appears to have some similar mattresses now if you're still in the market.
~$400 for a queen.

I have a Novosbed. I don't know how it compares to Endy, but here is some non-biased comparisons between the two
https://www.novosbed.com/compare/novosbed-vs-endy/
Long story short, Novosbed claims to have superior quality foam and says Endy cheaps out using gel to keep costs low and keep the mattress cool. Novosbed is supposed to last longer without cratering and whatnot. I believe Novosbed is a Canadian company too. I bought two Novosbeds and I feel like I like the original over the new one. The new one is more firm even though both were "medium". However as part of the 120 day testing thing, I requested a special foam topper from Novosbed (free) that slips inside the removable cover to adjust the firmness or softness. I can always remove or add the topper to adjust the firmness as needed now.
Novosbed also has a super Canadian mattress line called Douglas. It seems like it was designed to undercut players like Casper and Endy, but I don't know anything about it. A cursory glance looked like it was around $750 for the Douglas, $850 for the Endy and $1150 for the Novosbed for a queen size.

I flipped on this so many times
I think I've landed on silk and snow. The general online consensus is better quality materials and its sub 1000 for a king sized mattress.
I really want the purple but it's almost twice as much and it may not be great for side sleepers it seems.

Have a silk and snow delivering this week. I went with it cause of the cover and quality. I am guessing most of these mattresses will sleep close enough to the same.
Looking forward upgrading to a king.

Silk and snow have a financing option where you pay half and get 6 months 0% interest to pay the other half off over 6 months. Jeez, yeah why not. Free interest is always a good idea.

Any experience on the Silk & Snow, Whiteout?
Debating between that and the Novosbed (Edmonton company, yuck) but the price ($950 king vs $1400) is appealing, however I know following the dollar is generally a bad idea alone in bed buying.

Do you have to pay for return shipping if you don't like it?
Thinking of the Silk and Snow would be good for us($200 off right now), but the heat retention issue with foam has us nervous, as we don't have A/C. The Purple looks better for this, but is it $550 better? Anyone have the Purple here?

Happy with our Silk and Snow so far after almost a month. No heat issues (from my understanding its Casper & Endy that are the hottest IIRC). And no, return shipping (aka they send someone to pickup and donate) is always free.
No experience with Purple, sorry.

Same, I've been telling people the S&S doesn't get that hot. It needs a little heat for the foam to react properly (you notice it when you get into a cold bed), but it doesn't get uncomfortably hot

What would you guys recommend as far as a new King mattress?
Price isn't really that important.

Just had a Silk and Snow delivered today, at $200 off seemed like a good time to try this foam mattress craze out. From the reviews it looks like it is second least likely to have heat retention issues (behind the Purple) which is important for us because we don't have A/C.
I asked about putting it on our old box spring, and they recommended a piece of plywood(perforated, if possible for airflow) on top, which I'm not sure is necessary as our box spring is quite solid. What does everyone else do? I need something there due to the bed frame design and the box spring is the perfect height.
