Okay let me try to reword his comment for you:
There are teams in the league that need all the help they can get on defense, but the Flames aren’t one of them (as mentioned in the article).

Honestly I'm a bit worried about this for a few reasons.
1. Boston's core (marchand and co) are known as heavy partiers. When it was rumored dougie didn't fit in there, I wasn't so worried because I figured maybe he wasn't in to the scene
2. The comments about dougie and "the museum"
3. I'm not much older than Johnny and Monahan. I have heard some very... interesting... stories about some of their habits from people who have enjoyed libations with them
4. Tkachuk is known as a very serious player off ice, while ferland just went through the gamut of rehabilitation. Interesting that those two players are the main ones he has remained following
I really liked Hamilton and thought he was going to be a mainstay for us. If it ever comes out that this is close to the reasoning I will lose all respect for Johnny and money, and I am a big fan on the ice

Every year this board thinks we have the best defense in the league and every year we get scored on A LOT so I'm going to take a wait and see approach this time around.

I had bad vibes about Dougie last season that ramped up to “let’s trade him” levels when the whole Freddie waiving occurred. Something about the guy just didn’t seem right to me but it is hard to verbalize it. I think John Shannon did a horrendous job of trying to do that with his Moxies/Museum comment. I don’t really care about the team hanging together out all the time but I do care about the apparent pouting when his brother was moved, and skipping his exit interview. While Dougie had a fine statistical/analytical season the team fell very short on expectations. As a core player he needed to take part in that. Those reasons lead me to believe he will never truly be a franchise Dman despite the physical tools and ability.

I'm worried about the exact opposite. What if guys don't like him because they're worried he'll out some of their bad habits to coaches and such as he doesnt indulge. Something doesn't feel right here

You're hearing hoofbeats in the distance and assuming it's zebras instead of horses.

I think that is ridiculous. Guys don’t like him because he is going to potentially rat on their partying habits? I really think Dougie is a bit of an odd duck and his personality is probably an acquired taste and he can rub people the wrong way.
I believe Treliving agreed to acquire Freddie and keep him on the roster to get Dougie to sign that contract. I could imagine that rubbed other star players on the team the wrong way. To me him ditching the exit interview was a huge red flag and considering the comments about this team chemistry I just feel the Flames felt Dougie did not fit in so they moved on before his NTC kicked in next year.
I really like the return we got so I don’t feel they got ripped off in the deal.

That certainly struck me as weird that he'd go off on his own while the team was socializing together. Even if only a minor thing, its still weird to me, and it seems as though there was some underlying issues in that way. Now I dont know any of this for sure but the move was clearly about getting Dougie off the team.

They need to sign Hanifin soon and have the intro press conference for the new additions to give us something to discuss over the next couple weeks then it will be September before we know it

I'm glad I never became a professional athlete.
Sure being paid handsomely would be nice but all the off ice drama and people tracking your life 24/7 would be too much for me.

c) Social media is taken too seriously anyway. It's not real, or an accurate representation of any one's life, but a filtered projection with full of gaps for people to fill in with their worst assumptions. Best to stay away altogether for high profile people, except for putting out good messages or promoting some charity event. I'd say Johnny is an example of a savvy user, or Luongo who can crack innocent jokes, even at his own expense.

Agreed. It's creepy and weird this person decided to do their own ''investigation'' into someone else's twitter followers, and make her own tweet news story about it. The fact she counted out the players deleted, and listed who remains is creepy and weird. Who cares if Dougie deleted some former teammates from his Twitter? I delete people from my FB account all the time when I know I'm not going to see them anymore. Where's my news story?
I can't stand Twitter drama and how it passes for news these days.

FWIW my friend is good friends with Monahan's GF, so I have heard some interesting stories too. Not going to repeat them here as they deserve their privacy, and really both players perform to and often exceed expectations most games so it really shouldn't matter to us what they do off the ice.
Mostly it's just young people with money doing what young people do.
