That’s what i’ve never understood about the “flaming nostrils” critique. It’s breathing fire, what’s not to get?

I didn't say I don't get it, I said it's terrible. It's a product of the '90's EXTREME culture, where marketers thought making something look excessive, TO THE MAX was what people wanted. It looks like it's got a butterfly parasite trying to flap it's way out of it's nose. This is not a good logo. Just look at it for a minute. Those teeth, the fire tattoo, the lack of symmetry under the eyes...

It always looked like a bad drawing from a grade 3 art class. What a terrible logo and jersey.

Hate to disappoint people but I’ve been told by people who would 100 percent know that the decision makers don’t want a black jersey. They also WANT boring road jerseys because they don’t want people buying and wearing white/black to the games. Have it on very good authority that there will not be retro whites or the black horse head jerseys.

Upper management still places a lot of brand value on the “C of Red” and they don’t want to damage that. I think any new jerseys/alternates will be primary red for the foreseeable future.

This is a bit hard to believe. We had the black jersey's in 04 and beautiful white ones and nobody wore them to games, and if they do then who cares? As long as it's not the playoffs, I should be able to wear whatever I want to their games.

They could also do what they do now and sell mainly the red jerseys. AFAIK they only sell the whites plain and on one rack. That deters people from buying it, if that's really their goal...

Seems like a made up excuse for poor marketing and design to me.

The Flames have been wearing the same ugly home and away jerseys for more than 10 years. This franchise obviously doesn't care about trying new things. That being said, I'm glad the retros are back. Although I wish they were full time home and away jerseys and they would try something new for the thirds.
