He seemed to take Bradley as an insult when I met him this year at the STH year end and I was introduced by my rep.
He shook my hand and I said so Bradley in what way are you going to meddle with a trade this year?
He pretty much glared at me before answer.
Then I said was going into the draft with no picks until the 4th the plan Bradley.
I was pleased that it irritated him.
I didn't let him reply and said what do you think all the fans are here to be all kissy kissy.
I don't like him and I make no bones about it.

I'm not crazy about the trade as I really liked Hamilton and Ferland.
That being said, I would rather trade high and I think Ferland has peaked. So, I think It's a fair deal two for two, I just don't understand why Fox was added. IMO whether the trade is won of lost is all on how Fox turns out.
Since you want to talk assets. Treliving turned a mid first, two seconds, and two late picks (granted, Ferland is a Sutter relic) into two top five picks.
Those two top 5 picks have developed nicely and are primed to break out. No lost value there.
He took Hamilton on a bargain and his value increased as a flame. He then capitalized on his value. He made a great pick in Fox and turned him into something substantial.
Ferland is a nice player but difficult to place in the lineup. He is either great or no where. Ideally, he's a third liner, but he doesn't consistently show jam. He's a guy that's going to be given a regrettable contract next year.
Flames got younger and better today, and it was through a culmination of good asset management. This is a bad trade if you are adding up goals on hockeydb pages though, I'll grant you that.
Wow, that’s some major major spin doctoring!
Is this team much different than we were 24 hours ago as far as needs to? Nope. In the exact same spot, and arguably a worse spot for scoring. Did Treliving address the biggest need on this team, which he identified over a year ago? Nope. And he used up the best assets available to him to make a deal that has essentially shuffled deck chairs. We are still looking like a team missing a proven scorer on the wing, but the best assets to use to attract that player are gone.
Spin it anyway you like, but this team is still in the exact same situation as they were a year ago. They are going to struggle to score goals and now likely don’t have the assets to acquire the needed player without poking a whole elsewhere.

Or where. Because it surely was not going to be here. If he Veseys then it makes him being traded means nothing other we helped ourselves lubricate a deal for two good players.

Wow. I always tend to think that despite their rhetoric most people posting anonymously on an Internet forum are probably good people. With this story I am fairly convinced that Stay Golden is a person I do not care to know. What an unconscionably distasteful and uncalled for presentation at a public event.

I think he gave you a dirty look because you were being a dick, not because you called him Bradley.
Trashing on a forum is what it is but acting like that directly to another person? You don't have to like the guy but you could be an adult about it, yeesh.

You sound like a grade A #######. I'm glad Treliving gave you the stink eye.

I'd be curious to hear some Hurricanes fans opinion on this trade,I wonder what their thoughts on this trade are, because Flames fans seem pretty divided

I would rather be honest in emotion to Trelivings face so he knows you know what Brad not all the STH fans believe in your leadership. Not all the fans think you are making smart trades. Not all the fans thought Gulutzan was a smart hire.
And going into a draft ANY year with no picks until the 4th and having to fire an idiot coach is any GMs grand plan.
Only time will tell. We had to make a deal and its not easy when you are low on picks already and coming of disappoiting season. There were not many assets we could afford to give away. I think we lost a lot in Hamilton, especially given how bad was our PP, but I like both Lindholm and Hanifin. Next season probably wont tell us if that deal was worht it, but in 2-3 years we should know better. Peters definitely had a lot to say about those two so I guess we have to trust his experience with them. Atleast there is something to look forward to, i say better this then nothing...

I see a lot of Sean Couturier in Elias Lindholm. High pick, figured out the defensive side of the game before the offensive side, and I can see a trajectory like that with Lindholm. Lindholm has arguably already had more success at the NHL level and potentially more offensive potential long term.

From what I've read they're pretty divided too. They wanted help at the forward position not D. Lots of people disappointed they didn't use these two to go after RoR
The fact that opinions on the trade seem to be pretty evenly split on both teams fanbases tells me maybe it was actually decent, value wise

A few days ago, Hamilton was the league's "top scoring" defenseman, that many wouldn't trade 1-for-1 with Subban (are you freaking kidding me?)
Now he's an overrated Bouwmeester who takes bad penalties, is nothing without Giordano, oh and by the way truly is an uppity loner (really? I thought everyone loved the banana phone)
Revisionist history is amazing
