Agree.
Some people just don't have a filter and just blurt out anything that comes to mind. They don't think of how it will effect the person they're talking to.

Well, I pulled this thread up early in the morning and it appears as though the crazy has been dialed up to a nice raucous 12.
Good stuff.
I think the thing for me is that this is too insane to make up and the fact that former Sens spouses have effectively vouched for this woman exuding insanity from her pores.

The only problem is, and I have seen it before, is if people (women) don't like someone they will come out on the side of the person they prefer without knowing the actual truth. I am not saying this is what is happening but I have seen it before and it has caused some major problems in the circle of people I know.

I think it would only be natural for the community of NHL wives/girlfriends to come out on the side of the Karlsson's, regardless who perpetrated the vicious attack against them, particularly given the circumstances.
One can speculate on any number of plausible scenarios, none of which may be true. I also don't see how characterizing anything in any of this as somehow typical of female behavior.

At the very least you have to agree that the Ottawa paper chose the least flattering picture they could.

Just to note, most of the women coming out on Karlsson's side seem to have witnessed this first hand, not just running to the aid of a friend.

Its one thing to blurt something out and close to 1000 posts of unrelenting hate. I think she knew exactly how she wanted Karlsson's wife to feel.

I hope for Mike's own good he has been played a fool and really isn't involved in this. Mike does seem smart enough to know if he knew about something like this had started a while ago then he would have ditched her. It's a potential career sinking move if he did know.
Hopefully it just isn't true all together, but this seems quite fishy.
My guess is the girlfriend is definitely involved in some way with those accounts. She did it out of jealously, spite or just pure evil.
As for the Karlsson's I really can't imagine the pain and the added suffering they have to go through with losing a child and being harassed.

My older sister went to college with Monika Caryk. She was just as terrible person back then. After a falling out with my sister, Monika created a fake Facebook using my sisters pictures and name and started messaging disrespectful and disgusting stuff to our friends and family.

Prediction:
Hoffman and Caryk issue a press release saying Caryk has closed her social media accounts and is undergoing counselling. In the statement, Caryk apologizes to the Karlssons. Hoffman denies any knowledge of Caryk's online harassment, but says he is standing by his fiancee.
Hoffman is traded late in the summer when this has all cooled down. Team he is going to says they've spoken with Hoffman and they're confident the situation won't be a problem in the dressing room. Hoffman says he just wants to play hockey.
By October, nobody is talking about this, until a mini media frenzy at the first meeting of Hoffman and Karlsson's new teams (Karlsson will be traded too), when both players say they just want to move on.

I think so, because the article lead with this image which is also what the snippets have crawled:
And it's quite a bit of scrolling before you find the picture of Caryk. It's definitely one of her more sinister pictures, but the Citizen does give you most of the information before following up with her picture. It would be unlikely you would be leaning towards her being innocent to this by the time you made it to her picture - then to be convinced the other way. By that point you've already read about the allegations and Hoffman's response. I think their choice to lead with the Karlssons vs. lead with Caryk is pretty telling that they may have been conscious of steering public opinion.
It's a picture I'm sure was chosen to add commentary to how crazy this girl is, but so is the wild-hair shouting and pointing pictures everyone chooses for Trump. We know he's nuts, we know he said what's in the article and I personally appreciate the appropriate images they choose for the next 'racist old man shouts at another country' article. I think there definitely is a motive to tilt the commentary with the use of this photo, but it seems pretty damning where this story is headed.

I understand that people are hesitant to vilify Monika based on possible mob mentality, or that there is 2 sides to a story which is fair. Sometimes however there really is no 2 sides to a story, and there are people in the world that hateful and evil, especially within a woman circle. I can bet you 100% this is a jealousy situation, and Madisson could have been the target simply because of who she married, and her looks. And I have seen firsthand how some people will go to unfathomable lengths to destroy somebody they loathe, and wish to put down.
As for Hoffman, there are 2 possible situations: he is in love, and in denial of how crazy she is (love is a stupid thing). Or he is similar to her. Let's also not forget that should he dump her, he loses half of his assets as they were common law. It's a very very high price for him, and we likely will not hear his story until this blows over years from now.
