Liking the body language from Shapo, he's not going down without giving his all.

He certainly needs to take a step or two back on the return and give himself a little more time and space.
Nonetheless, very impressive to have saved 8/9 break points thus far despite not being able to get into anything on Nadal's service. This kid is going to be a serious player, like Wimbledon soon.

Ya I dont want to see Nadal play Shapo at Wimbledon. Federer tho what a match that would be.

It's long past time for these clay tournaments to embrace the Hawkeye technology, this inspection of ball marks is an inexact science.

Agreed. It is archaic, disruptive to the play and to be honest, completely unfair to put the umpires in this position in such important events like this.

Ya yesterday Pliskova got absolutely screwed by a bad call. After the match she refused to shape the umps hand then smashed her raquet against the umps chair.

Denis should be one of the top seeds in the Geneva 250 event next week leading into the French Open.
This may be his best chance yet to win a tour level title as the rest of the field does not look overly impressive outside of Goffin.

Felix won his match today in straights. Was dropping in some 125mph serves as well, developing some nice power to his game.

Is Denis just going to keep playing every 250 tournament he can physically get to? He's scheduled for Stuttgart as well. I assume he plays at Halle. Does he play Eastbourne, Hamburg and Citi in addition to the slams, before Rogers Cup and Cincinnati?
That's a crazy schedule to expect to play your best on. I know he's 19, but damn.

Probably a wise move to pull out of Geneva and rest up for the French Open.

Maybe if she made the final of Wimbledon.
I understand she has been through crap, but she hasn’t made a major move like Genie first did. Canadians don’t care, just Win.

But yeah...racism Such an absurd comment.

That’s what I mean...She hasn’t even made a Major Final, what does she expect?
Honestly I don’t think Eugenie is a “Media Darling” anymore either.

Vasek and Filip Peliwo are into the semi-finals in Busan - They are on opposite sides of the draw so there is a chance for an all-Canadian final (Vasek is the defending champion).

Ridiculous.
A major final? She hasn't even advanced past the 2nd round! Bouchard has 2 semifinals and a final.
Wait until Felix arrives and see how racist things are.
She totally shot her career now.

I think this is exactly what he should be doing right now. He needs ATP level experience and needs to collect as many points as he can to ensure he is ranked as high as he can be for the foreseeable future. So long as He's not pushing through injuries I don't have an issue with it.
This isn't really abnormal. Theim and Zverev did the same thing for a couple of years and slowly tapered the events back once they felt they were at a level where they could be a little more picky with events.

Hopefully he still intends to play 3-4 grass events as I think there is definite room for him to make a serious move on that surface this year with the way his serving is coming around.

Djoker playing some good tennis this week goes up against Kei should be a good match. Winner gets Nadal after his comeback win earlier today.

Nishikori looking in fine form early leading Joker 4-1 in the opening set.
Edit: Kei takes the opening set 6-2. Some great shot making from the Japan #1

No she hasn't. She was obscure and ignored before, and if this does her no good, she'll be obscure and ignored. Meanwhile, if she does get to a point where she's competing in bigger tournaments, this isn't going to cause people to ignore her then. Her career path is still more or less entirely dictated by results.

I'm torn, because I can't really disagree with what you've said, but I do want to see him make noise at the 1000s and slams. I think he's more likely to do that with a slightly scaled back schedule. Maybe play the 500s and leave the 250s alone. But as you say, that might be something to think about for next year. This really is his first full year on tour, the first time he even has the opportunity to play too much pro tennis.
