You're right, we should save that for Treliving!

This is what happens to a passionate fan base that has dealt with decades of disappointment, utter madness.

Do you realize this time we're talking about a hiring *that hasn't even happened yet*.

Yes and no. He better know that expectations are sky high — just ask the guy who just got fired. So hopefully he comes in eyes wide open in terms of why this team failed last year (and why the coach got fired as a result) and what he has to do to fix it. Not sure how many Flames games he’s watched this past year but he’s got all summer to figure it out...

Yes it has, or according to our insider it has and he has given us no reason to doubt him.

Or not watch Flames games and get any silly ideas like the Brouwerplay.
Just watch the edited AC versions Bill

It does seem likely. I just meant it hasn't been announced yet, and until that happens I still think a lot of this is premature.

Seems a lot more than likely. Sounds like a done deal according to multiple sources. Pretty much 100% confirmed as far as I'm concerned. Steinberg doesn't run with stories unless he has multiple sources. Our insider Fischy seems legit although its hard to know for sure. But I think the fact that Steinberg went on a limb to report the story says a lot. He often sits on stuff he's heard until he's sure its true.

Yes, I don't think I phrased my last response correctly (and the original was made before the latest confirmation).
However, my point as I mentioned is that it hasn't been *officially* announced yet. I guess ultimately it doesn't make much difference when people start the discussion.

Even if it doesn't happen, we're discussing a potential result. If we only discussed finalized things here this board would have like 75% less posts.

Excellent!
Seems like some are forgetting that GG got canned. How people are upset after that is a head scratcher. No one know if Peters is the solution but GG certainly wasn't. Any coach hire would be a gamble in some way all we can do is wait and see how this gamble pans out. I like Treliving's decisiveness in this instance. For a methodical and slow acting GM he sure canned GG quickly and picked Peters quickly. To me that says he really, really likes Peters as a coach. Lets hope his confidence is not misplaced.

Gulutzan and Cameron are both gone (thank god), so I'm fully on board with whatever comes next.
Like many folks here, I wasn't exactly thrilled at first with the Peters news, but I've accepted it now. Hopefully the Flames are a much better fit for him than Carolina was. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do with this roster next year, especially if Tre can upgrade our offence this summer.
