Well, Jagr wanted to compete for as long as he possibly could, so I guess he went out on his own terms in a way too. Jagr has known for years that each shot he gets could be the final one and that it might not neccesarily end up being great, and he still kept on keeping on. I bet there are zero regrets there.

He was already pretty popular here, one of the very few guys who are respected leaguewide even by rivals, but after he did that for Linden he probably will never have to buy a drink in this town again, was such a cool gesture and im glad to see its carrying on, wish it would have been possible with iginla too.

Always remember too from that you could clearly hear linden tell him hes the best player in the game on their handshake, and scott oake asked him what linden said in a post game interview and iginla just said it was private, the amount of guys with that amount of class, talent, and still be so humble is a short one

With the assist on Daniel's goal, Henrik is now first all-time in overtime assists, pulling ahead of Ryan Getzlaf and Nicklas Lidstrom. You'd have to think Getzlaf will eventually hold the record there, probably next season, but still kind of neat. Along the same lines, Daniel Sedin was already the all-time leader in overtime power play goals, but now becomes the first player to get into double digits with ten. Second place is Evgeni Malkin with 6, so that record might take a while for someone to top.

I'm honestly wondering what happens in Edmonton tomorrow. Do the fans give them a hand after the game? It's actually possible that the Sedins retiring will save the Oilers from having their fans end their season by booing them off the ice.

Hmmm I wonder what they'll do next.

Maybe they'll become amateur detectives solving crimes and gathering clues in a small town.

Or perhaps, they'll stumble upon a cat eating alien and hi jinx will ensue as they try to hide the alien from the evil agents of the Swedish Government.

Or maybe just maybe, they'll form a singing group with one of their best friends who's a piano player and the other who's a guitarist, meanwhile The Sedins will take over the vocals and tamboreen playing.

So uncanucklike to employ classy fellas. After kesler, bieksa, ruutu, burrows, Etc. It’s hard to imagine the sedin’s played there. They were good, but I won’t miss them. Lol. The game was better for having them though.

I kinda wanted the Sedins to call it quits last night. That was just the perfect fairy tale ending. Could have just said "We want the rookies to have the opportunity now" and avoid the Grease

Like honestly how bad is it going to be tomorrow when every Oiler homer on TV is going to congratulate the Oilers and their fans on how classy they are for staying on the ice and cheering? Like ANY team would do the same but since it's the Oilers with McJesus it's going to become a big story.

And how the idiot homer broadcast crew will find a way to make it about passing the baton to a new generation of stars like McDavid and Drysaddle.

Apparently they are using Shorthouse and Garrett to broadcast the Sedin's last game. Smart move by Sportsnet.

I heard something pretty stupid on 960 today. Not sure what the context was, as I was flipping through my presets. Basically, whoever was talking said that it was fitting that McDavid will be on the ice for the Sedins' final game. I kept flipping, because I didn't want to get annoyed, but I'm annoyed anyway. Why the F is that fitting? Will it also be fitting if McDavid is playing a game while Prince William becomes king? Or if he's eating a burger while NAFTA gets settled? Hey, let's make sure to mention McDavid the next time a rocket goes to space, or when someone cures cancer. Obviously, McDavid is relevant to absolutely everything. We should just anoint him King of Earth.

Oh, and congrats on your careers, Daniel and Henrik. I hated you, but for all the right reasons. Unlike many of your teammates.
