This board hates everyone who isn't a first line elite player. Even Monahan.
We all love our playoff heroes!!

Iginla, Regehr, Leopold, Conroy, Kipper, Simon, Gelinas..

Kinda of a gap between playoff heroes.

Backlund drafted 11 years ago and not a reasonable amount of team success.

I recall a lot of Johnny hate when he had a down year last season.

So I think this board hates everyone period.

Seriously, say whatever silly things you want, but you really need to drop the "we" part of your posts. You've been outed as a Jets fan like 850 times now.

And I hate Bingo because he couldn't package the lot of us with some other junk and trade us to the Athletic for Eric Duhatschek. Fire Bingo into the sun!

Yep. They may not always say it but there are many fans who blame Gaudreau in any loss where he doesn’t look like a $12 million player. And lord knows Iginla was pretty constantly criticized.

Seems as though there just aren’t enough good players on the team.

The fan base era in and era out has always hated fourth liners and 6/7 defenseman unless they are unproven, then they're stars being held back.

The flames have won 4 playoff rounds in 29 years.

The fourth line and bottom pairing have almost always been inadequate.

Maybe the hate has been somewhat justifiable? Maybe the natives are restless for a reason?

Obviously there is a high gesticulating idiot quotient on this and other message boards, but maybe fans are upset about a guy making the squad on a professional tryout because there was quite literally no one else in the organization suited to that role?

Wow, that just sunk in
Are there any franchises in the NHL with a worse record during that time?

*sorry to hijack Backlund thread with this question

Arizona/Winnipeg. 4 rounds won since 1979 (since inception) That's the first one I looked at.

The Jets/Coyotes have won 2 rounds (both in 2012). The Islanders have won 3.

Of the 90s expansion teams: Florida has won 3 rounds, all in their third season of existence; Columbus has never won a playoff round; Atlanta/Winnipeg has never won a playoff game.

wow, and 3 of those were in 03-04.
I had to check, the Oilers have one 14 over the same 29 years.

Interesting thing to look into, we really are amongst the absolute worst franchises in the NHL post the 1980's.

The only one worse that hasn't relocated is the Islanders who have only won 3 playoff rounds since 1990 - present.

Coyotes have only won 2 but they started in 96.
Panthers have won 3 but started in 93.

Edmonton is better
Vancouver is better
San Jose is better
Anaheim is better
LA is better
Arizona is worse (we are better than Arizona, doubling the number of playoff victories they have had over that time)

Nashville is better
St Louis is better
Chicago is better
Colorado is better
Dallas is better
Winnipeg was not around for the full 29 years
Minnesota is tied with us (but they played 10 less seasons, more wins per capita

Toronto is better
Ottawa is better
Montreal is better
Buffalo is better
Boston is better
Detroit is better
Tampa is better
Florida is worse

Pittsburgh is better
Philly is better
Rangers are better
Islanders are worse
Capitals are better
New Jersey is better
Carolina is better
Columbus is worse

So the Flames are not the worst, there are 3 teams who are worse.
