Has this management or coaching staff ever uttered this mantra? This was the modus operandi of a previous regime, and I wish people would stop using it as an indictment of the current hockey ops dept.

Come on. It is not the dating of the sentiment, it is the principle.

The previous boogeyman was entitlement of the Iggy country club era.

Hartley brought an identity change (and frankly a guy like Jooris got a career out of it, which showed it had some teeth).

What identity has GG brought?

Maybe it is being used as an indictment, but the question should be whether an accusation has merit.

Frankly, you are better than that.

I'm not that excited to see a line consisting of a very good prospect struggling to find consistency, a good prospect struggling to stay in the line up, and a waiver pick up perhaps on his last legs.

Jankowski is not struggling to stay in the lineup. If that was the case, you'd see him on wing and on the fourth line first.

At worst, Hathaway to Stewart on the right side of Bennett & Jankowski is a lateral move.

The Oilers thread is loaded with criticism of that franchise for gifting spots to youngsters instead of making them earn it.

Maybe GG doesn't have this saying on the chalkboard but kind of feels like it is a rather accepted principle of good management.

I feel like the game is so much about speed now, and Stewart seems slow out there. Hathaways hands have went cold, but he is still moving up and down the ice, hitting and killing penalties. I didnt/dont get the Stewart claim. I think his linemates will keep getting burried in the defense of zone.

I think where Stewart can be a positive fit for us is on the 2nd PP unit. He has a wicked heavy shot, I would use him instead of Frolik.

I was expecting him on Unit Two the whole game. Mind you, they leaned on the first unit really heavily on pretty much every power play. And the power play is one area where knowing the system helps, so I guess they wanted to get him a practice, if he's going to be on it.
